Yet another tire/wheel size question
Hate to bring this back up, and I know the forums are full with this stuff, but the information is varied and located in a lot of places. I think I want to run the 16" wheel because 14 and 15 inch tires are getting rare. If I run the 16X7, and a 215/50/16, will I need a spacer? Will I need to roll fenders?

I am about 1.5 hours away from Cartersville, on the same road, though, GA 20. I will get the coil soon. Thanks for the site!

Front Cover/dizzy Hold-Down
Hi all. I bought a L28 motor from the late great John Williams, and I am getting ready to install it, but I decided to do all those upgrades that I would want to do later, while it is still on the stand. I bought a ZX distributor yesterday, but when I went to install it, I didn't see any way to secure it to the front cover. Are all front covers the same on the L-series? I will take pics tonight and add them, but I had a dead moment at work to get the ball rolling. I'd rather sound like an idiot and get the problem solved than keep my pride and never find the answer. Electric Fans Fitment In 71 Z.
I have the 3 core radiator, and had to go low profile fans. I am down to about 2.75 inches, which gives me about .75 of an inch to the front of the motor. I've seen some setups that run push fans at the front. Don't know if you want to try that.

Need help with a bolt...
The bolts are in! One more step towards being a roller, and getting the welding done, and getting the carbs rebuilt, and putting the engine/trans/diff in, and etc etc

Need help with a bolt...
I apologize for not being more clear. I have new ball joints, new bushings, and have new springs, inserts, calipers and rotors. When I was putting the passenger side back together, I realized I didn't have the right bolts. I have the 8s and 10s that secure and locate the ball joint. I needed both 12s. I am heading to the hardware store today to see if I can locate them. Thank you all for your posts and advice, I will try to remember to post a pic of the finished product.

Need help with a bolt...
It is the shoulder bolt that I need. I am told by Fastenal that they don't make those sort of bolts. I've tried again at Courtesy, and this time I was actually able to order online, with (so far) no email saying they don't have. Zkars, if they don't come through, I'll take you up on your offer.

Need help with a bolt...
I got the part number, and it is not available new anywhere in the US, according to Courtesy Nissan. Does anyone have a parts car I could get a donor from? It is the bolt that connects the steering knuckle to the ball joint and strut.

Need help with a bolt...
I am trying to find the bolt that connects the ball joint, strut and control arm for the 240z. I lost mine in a move, and can't find. Any help is appreciated. Curtis

bolt size help strut housing 240z
Hi all - I am replacing the struts in a 240, transplanting from another. I have, in the process, lost the bolts that hold the ball joint to the strut housing. Does anyone know/remember the size? I don't seem to have any on hand. Thanks! Curtis

swap pulley on the alternator?

Bad Exhaust Smell !!!
I have had a lot of success in sealing the gaps between the taillights and the body, and also sealing the plastic cover at the back of the hatch against the body. I disagree about tailpipe length. It is more to do with the fact that the Z isn't airtight - too much air comes in through gaps.

resetting odometer - any better ideas than with a drill?
After trying, I think I killed the speedo in the disassembly. I have another one, and will just put the drill on it.

Dash Repair Process/Pictures
Did you take the metal plate off the front of the dash where it meets the windshield? I imagine that w/o doing that, you'd have a very hard time getting the cap off.

That's a much better idea!

best replacement gauges, for price
I jumped on Autometer's website, and it looks like 1000.00 for all new gauges for the Z. Wow, thanks but no thanks. Anyone have a cheaper/better idea? Thanks all Curtis

resetting odometer - any better ideas than with a drill?
Not a bad idea. Would be a good TV series too...but the networks would insist that they be gay partners....

I agree. Courtesy, Respect, and Liberty are all echos of the past, not often seen in the US anymore.

resetting odometer - any better ideas than with a drill?
I have done the research. I doubt this is the correct forum for such a conversation, but when I use the term "nanny state", I refer to the socialization of just about everything in society, no longer left to the individual to what is best for him, but left to what is best for society as a whole. The US is becoming more and more like that, and not just with this current administration. Why should I be forced to pay for the care of someone else as a higher priority than my own family? The notion is barbaric, but here we are nonetheless. Anyway, about the Z. I am keeping receipts, taking photos, even recording videos of the progress of the rebuild. I think any buyer of a Z would, if I was honest about the rollback of the odometer, would understand why I did.
