Colorado Crusher Rescue
I've been gone a while and didn't converse with many of you while I was here before. Sorry to those I did talk to for dropping off the planet. So this is more of a "hi again" re-introduction. I have a 73 240Z and two 78 280Z 2+2's. Plan A is to turn the 73 into a "rest-moded" daily driver. Well, in the summer time at least. There's enough good parts between the three to do that (I think) and still part out the rest of the 78's. Plus I've been cruising every Z-car parts sight I can find, but I'm only sure of myself with the body and lighting. Of course, R&R of the mechanicals won't be so hard unless I find some goofy mod parts. For the engine/drivetrain, I'm either going to just drop one of the 280's in and call it good or see what kind of suggestions yall might have. I want to stay with the Nissan inline six motif under the hood, though. If anybody can tell me where a good place to go for wiring harnesses, I'd appreciate it. I also need some knowledge as to what kind of transmission upgrades are good for the "more fun than legal" daily driver. I also need some help with the suspension and brakes. I recently finished upgrading a 1/2ton Chevy to heavy 3/4ton (6bolt to 8bolt with bigger brakes and better diff) using parts off of a donor truck. I've done that to quite a few GM cars, but is this possible in the Z-car realm? Enough yacking, I guess. Looking for GOOD after-market EFI
Forgive my ignorance...but what is "su"? The Patton site looks promising. Though he mentions the Z's, I'll ask him for more detail when the budget gets closer. [heh] I'd bet that not "pulling the trigger" has to do with cost, huh? I get that. I'm selling my other truck to fund the next daily driver. Either getting the Z up to speed or putting the big block in my full-size truck. (looking like it'll be the Z at this point) conedodger's Jenvey suggestion looks interesting, but I can't find anything referencing Datsuns of any kind there. Thanks guys. Please keep the suggestions coming. It'll be Oct/Nov time frame before I can fully unload on this car.

New to actually getting my paws on a Z car
And in case I miss configured my gallery: I plan on giving the BLA wheel (rear) to my friend that helped me get the car home, but would be nice to get one more of the slotted wheels. The spare is the "iron cross" design.

Looking for GOOD after-market EFI
Hey all. While I'm still trying to get my 73 240Z running, I keep thinking about how much good converting my 86 Chevy PK to a TBI did. Even though there's still a couple kinks to work out, the truck runs better and got a couple more MPG (not saying much for a 200,000+ mile 350cid, but meh). I also have a penchant for "resto-modding" cars. Most of my dream projects are taking an old, yet beautiful car and modernizing it without being too obnoxious in the process. Most visible changes are usually "period" mods. Now for my question. I know I'm asking for a storm here, but I'd like to get the opinions of folk that have installed, or plan to install an after-market EFI to their Z. Which company or combo of companies and parts have worked out the best for all yall with more experience in this realm than me (I know, not saying a lot...again.)

New to actually getting my paws on a Z car
Thanks, dudes. Only got two pics right now. The one posted in my garage, and one of the only gorram light that works on the car. :stupid: I am still trying to get it running right now. Though I will need some body parts and glass, there is an import auto salvage/recycling yard only 50mi away. I'll give them a call soon. I think I just need a third arm or prehensile tail at this point. I have spark and the starter works, but it won't fire. Yes, I know the fuel line's not hooked up, but the tanks empty anyway. I squirted gas, then ether in the carbs and got nuthin. [shrug] The guy that found this thing for me also has a bunch of old Triumphs, and the setups are eerily similar to my Z. We're gonna work it out over the next couple of weeks.

'ello all. Just picked up a 73 240Z this week. I actually rescued it from the crusher. The sucker even has a clean title. I've been (lazily) looking for one of these since my mother sold her 280ZX 2+2 years ago, and this one happened to blip on a friend of mine's radar. That in mind, my project list got shuffled a bit. While my Chevy truck still tops the list, I need to get this car on the road very soon. The engine seems ok (for sitting in a field for god only knows how long), but we'll see how it goes this weekend. I'm kinda amazed at how close the setup is on these to some of my friend's British Lawn Art. The body's been banged up, though. This car (mostly) survived the Windsor Tornado that blew by a couple years ago. [/ramble off] Sorry dudes. I'll stop now.
