First buying the 260z, these were the photos I got. The later, larger sized photos focusing on the engine were taken in November, 2012 as I start the project. I had been driving it for two years at this point and already converted it from an auto 3 to a manual 5 speed. -

Removing/Ditching the L26 for an LS1
Finally starting the LS1 swap guys. I'm removing the triple webers and engine and will be getting rid of those to help fund the rest of the project. You have to appreciate how easy it is to drop one of these engines compared to a newer car. The car and engine I am starting with has about 90k on it, so I'm a little sad to be pulling it apart, but I plan to completely refinish the whole thing, so I'm dropping the whole drivetrain and getting it up an a rotisserie to start body work. Wish me luck. Phase 1: Remove triple Webers and intake. DONE Phase 2: Remove exhaust. DONE Phase 3: Remove transmission Phase 4: Remove engine (lift point suggestions, anyone?) Phase 5: Remove diff Have pics below so you guys can see the progress. BTW, if anyone wants this stuff... Ha!

Drivetrain vibration
I had the same thing happen to me when my diff went out. It started while driving 75-80mph in CA traffic. Then progressively started getting worse until it was happening at 40mph. Finally heard a loud clank in the diff and it did it at anything fast than 30. Haven't driven it since as I restore it. Elaborating on Zed Head's comments above, here are the same questions and why they apply: 1) Does it happen in 4th gear at 65mph? If yes, then you're probably looking at drive train linkage behind the tranny (diff, driveshaft, u-joints, etc). 2) If no, you need to rule out the transmission. You can do this by simply releasing the clutch at 65 and shifting into neutral. If it's still there, you're probably still looking at linkage in back of the transmission. 3) If yes, then you can start thinking about the transmission, but it's kinda doubtful. My bet is on the diff or wheels/brakes. Just my opinion. Hope that helps!

Getting rid of my triple Webers
Nah... After running the Webers, I could never do that. I've never driven a car that felt like it had as much torque as my 260z with those webers (not even my 1995 Z28). Is that typical with webers? Maybe the guy had cammed it, too, but I could hardly start the car with a clutch with the triple webers on without burning up the clutch. I usually just started the car w/o giving it gas. I'm actually getting rid of them because I am starting a full restoration/build and swapping in a cammed LS1, so I have no need for these. But yeah, if you know anyone who wants them, send them my way. I'm negotiable on the price, too. Just need to strip the drivetrain of this car down and get rid of it to help fund the next phase of the restore.

Getting rid of my triple Webers
Not sure if this is technically allowed on this forum, but I thought I would just casually mention that I'm getting rid of my triple Webers off my L26 and if any one is interested, PM me. Selling 1975 280Z bumpers
Really? Well I'm kinda just getting ready to get rid of these, so I'll entertain pretty much any reasonable offer. I'm not going to let them go for $50, but I'm not dead set on a price, either. Strange though, these do seem kinda rare since they weren't put on a lot of years. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
