Great pics, Marc. I had the pleasure to meet Jimbo and Carl mid of August in Florida. I had a spin with Carl in his fabulous Baja Z. Jimbos garage is - only one word - breathtaking. I felt like a child in a candy shop. It's so fantastic how Jim and Carl care for the preservation of first generation antique Z's. Jim asked me to post some pics of my visit. I quote Marc: As others that know Jim and Carl will agree, they are both awesome people, very down to earth, humble, and generous with sharing their time, expertise, and knowledge of the Z cars with anyone who shares their passion for these cars.

Hello Kats, I've read this interesting discussion about early Zedds (I have a 12/1970 240Z here in Germany. It has fresh air exhaust vents located on the rear hatch). And congrats to your fantastic cars and the video. Your car sounds excellent! Highest esteem. What I'm interesting is: how can one see, on what day a Z car was built end of 1969 and in the 70's? Or: how many days did the factory need to complete a car? Does this anyone know? This summer I visited the US and saw two Nissan Fairlady Z (right hand drivers) from 1970. In the first view I could not find any differences to the US cars. Are there differences and what about the japanese VINs? Thanks a lot. BeZt Thorsten
  3. Hello Mike, interesting discussion about the 1969 240z. It's deeply interesting to see, who owns such a car. I had the pleasure to meet Kathy & Rick and lucky #13 this summer. It was breathtaking. May I ask you: where so you have your 69 cars from? Bezzzt, Thorsten

Hi Chris, greetings to Denmark. Another orange 240 Z I have ever seen in German is one of the vintage 240 Z, owner is Nissan Europe. Don't know why but this Mexican 918 orange fits perfectly to this car like other colors of course too. The problem with the radio is the radio frequency identification. The OEM does not work. Curious, isn't it. I'm located in the southwest next to Baden-Baden. Where are you from? Glad to hear from you. Thor

Thanks Marc, thats true. It's not only because of the car. Z owners and drivers are a great community, a unique family. You will not find this so often among other brands. That's what I learned in Nashville. And I'm glad and thankful to participate. The 50th Anniversary will be a fantastic party! Thor

Hello Rick, thanks for your reply. Of course I need a permit for this antique car. But there are exception permits for cars which are more than 30 years old. So I didn't have to modify anything in view of safety or emmisions. Thor

Hello Ron, yes you are right. My car is from 12/1970, a 1971 model. Only 23 vehicles after yours. Hey, how great is this! I must study pics of your car. Thor

Hello Mike, a pity that I did not meet you in Nashville. It as a great event. I felt as a child in a candy shop. Classic Zs are extremely rare in Europe, so I have never seen so many beautiful Datsuns at one place on one day. I've got an autograph of Mr. Matsuo on my sunvisors. Hey, that looks great. May be we see us in Savannah next year on the convention. A beautiful place. Thor

Hi Rick, you find pics in the "garages" sector. The car was not modified, everything is original. It has a 5 speed, thats all. There are a lot of rumors about german autobahns. We have speed limits too, this concerns to circa 80 % of the entire route network. There are 120 km/h allowed (80 mph). Without speed limits you can drive as fast you want if the traffic makes it possible. I drove a Porsche once 180 mph .... stress, makes no fun.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Of course I had several rides on the autobahn. Fastest speed was 110 mls. I prefer to drive relaxed. The car is to good for speed duels... You find pics in the garages sector.

Howdy GuyZ, I'm from germany and owner of a 1970 Datsun 240 Z. I imported this fine car from the US and restored it carefully in the past months. In August I joined the 40 anniversary Z convention in Nashville and was proud to meet this great and huge Z family. Glad to join the club, to read your posts, to marvel at your cars.
