Possibly neither. Early lenses will likely have "IKI 5004 JAPAN" at one end, "SAE PIA69" at the other end.

That would be the very looong and cold Canadian winter, eh?

Side light refurb
You are on target - the side marker lenses are a two-piece construct. There is a very thin line of glue holding the two together. Short of attempting to pry them apart and risk breaking a lens, you might try using a dull razor blade to clean out the crack between the two pieces.

Interior Door Arm Rest Coming Loose
Dann, The metal plate in the arm rest is designed with the cone shape to fit the installation screw. No way the screw caused the plate to deform. I think you are on the right track to re-seat the plate in a bed of spray foam and then use a layer of foam to seal it. Hopefully the spray foam will bond to the original foam, that stuff will stick to almost anything!

Decals instead of badges?
To the best of my knowledge the '70 and '71 cars had only the emissions decal on the hood. That was the only decal in that location on my car when I bought it new.

Terrible Tornado hit our friends in Dallas.
Walking around the house this morning I spotted small bits of insulation on the roof and scattered around the yard, brought by the high winds from damaged buildings miles away. Here is a pic of how I squeeze three cars into a two car garage. The Z usually sleeps in this sideways position when not in use. It takes a 25' deep garage to pull this off.

Terrible Tornado hit our friends in Dallas.
Hey folks, We are all good! Had a very noisy and wet night. Got all the cars into the garage yesterday afternoon in anticipation of possible hail. Our home is in NE Richardson a couple of miles north of the tornado track. Thanks for thinking of us. JIm

240Z luggage straps
Richard, To clarify - the area that I am referring to is the bulkhead right behind the seats, not at the taillight panel. You do want the strap mounts at the taillight panel to be aft of the carpet edge so you can easily get into the spare tire well. There is a good possibility that your carpet edge binding is already notched at this area to fit around the strap mounts. Sorry that I was not more clear on the first response. Jim

240Z luggage straps
I suspect your carpet is not too long. The carpet should butt up against the vertical bulkhead ridge and the screws for the luggage strap mounts should go through the carpet - effectively securing the carpet in place. Don't cut notches in your carpet at this location.

Stock Valve Cover Finish
The judging sheets received by each entrant are typically from the first round of judging. These results are used two ways: (1) they are used to determine all of the awards other than Gold Medallion or Gold Cup; (2) any car scoring 290 or more is then re-judged for Gold Medallion or Gold Cup. The re-judging is substantially more intense and detailed, most cars will lose additional points and any car still managing to hold on to 290 or more will be awarded Gold. To the best of my knowledge, the judging sheets from the second round are never released. In 2015 at Memphis, I scored 298 in Street Modified first round, losing one point on the engine and one on the interior. The second round almost killed me with a loss of an additional eight points, dropping me to 290. The judging sheets I received covered only the first round, I was never told what the additional second round deductions were for. I see this practice as intentional and probably well-meaning. If an entrant is told about every deduction on the second round, then every entrant has a strong likelihood of being awarded Gold at the next convention (if they drop below 290 at the current event).

Sizing and Offset of new wheels for '78 280z
16" Rewinds, zero offset on my car with 205/55 ZR16 tires. Excellent fit within the wheel wells, no fender rub. Also very close to the OE tire diameter for no significant speedo error. Purchased at Discount Tire with tires, look for rebates or other promos. Discount was willing to negotiate a bit because it was a full package, it pays to ask.

Console Armrest 240z
This is pretty much identical to the dealer-added armrest in my car - mine does not have the raised bar on the underside. Mine was surely the AMCO offering pictured in the ad, as the dealer had already installed the front and rear overrider bars and lots of other add-ons.

Where to support a rusty 240?
+1 on the front crossmember as recommended by @siteunseen. There is a box member running across the rear of the car that is also a good place for jack stands - providing you don't have any serious rust issues in the area. If you have to pull the engine and remove the crossmember, consider bolting in a 4X4 at the crossmember mount points as a substitute.

Slashed my wrist on a Honda.
Dang - sorry to hear about this but glad no serious damage was done, lots of potential for long-lasting impact in the wrist area. At least the offending vehicle is now gone from the scene. Going forward, recommend you limit your focus to activities on Z's with adequate room to work.

240z HHH (Hatch Hinge Handedness)
The hinges ARE left and right! Look for a "L" and "R" stamped on the body - between the large flat Phillips head screws. FYI - I have a set for sale if you need replacements. Stripped, replated, ready for paint.

Unique Fuel Rail
I just spotted another unique aspect of this rail: the return nozzle opening is a "huge" 1/8th inch diameter unlike the pinhole opening in the typical 240Z or 260Z rail. This suggests it was (1) feeding a much lower fuel pressure to the carbs or (2) an allowance for a much higher fuel pressure entering the rail - possibly from an electric fuel pump.
