I recently purchased a 260Z 2+2 and the previous owner is hesitant to supply the paper work... I do however have the cars old number plates, please see pic, these are not South African plates. Do any of you guys recognize them and which country are they from? (I suspect the car was imported, which means licencing it in SA might be quite difficult).
  3. Ok, I think we going to rebuild some of the parts that we have and import 2 front wishbones and joints from the US. Where can we purchase these items at a good price?
  4. Bruce, I looked at importing a car, but it is quite expensive as we work in Rands not Dollars (unfortunately the value of our currency has dropped quite a bit). We restore cars as a hobby and are keen to build a Z, but we will be importing a R32 GTR in the near future. At the moment I am checking availability for 260/280Z parts in SA and i think we will find something to work with... besides we enjoy customizing the car ourselves.
  5. thanks guys I will check out the manuals and try my best to source S30 parts
  6. That could work out to be very expensive, is there not any other model of datsun/nissan or any other make of vehicle which has a suspension we could use?

Hi guys, I have just purchased a 1975 260Z 2+2 in need of restoration. I am very keen to get the project underway and develop an awesome machine! The car is pretty badly rusted and all the parts need to be redone. Could anyone please help with info for a suspension and brake replacement (not many S30s in SA) or info where to organise parts for these cars in South Africa. M-Tune
  8. Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and have just purchased a 1975 260Z 2+2 for restoration. Unfortunately the car has been standing for many years and is quite rusted, the suspension, diff and all the fittings are very badly corroded and damaged. I need a complete new suspension set up front and rear and possibly a new diff. In South Africa early Z cars are very scarce, but there are quite a few 280ZXs around. So we were thinking of finding the complete set up of a ZX and installing it into our 260. Would this work? or what would you suggest is the best solution. M-Tune
