Thank you guys, i do have a 1973 datsun 240z, again sorry guys im new to this so im not sure what the part is called but there is a part that is attached to the tank that has two wires coming out of it that run to another part that looks to be attached to the chasis (fuel pump or is that the sender) but regardless there is a blue wire connected to to that part attached to the chasis which the blue wire runs into the car, and the part coming out of the tank with the two wires one is connected to the part on the chasis, another the other is just dangling there, black in color, and the part connected to the chasis has another wire that seems to run on top of the tank... sorry if i sound confusing, i hope it makes sense, i thinking that wire coming from the part connected to the tank should be connected somewhere, but where? there are no other wires loose for it to connect to.

thanks guys, it looked like it was leaking from the the top of the tank, it wasn't over flowing from where the gas goes in, i didn't get the initial click that it was full, i just started hearing a loud dripping sound and looked underneath and the gas looked to be overflowing from the top

i just purchased my 1973 240z last friday, i noticed my fuel guage didn't work (previous post asking for help with that) but i still need to drive it home, i went to get gas first and fill it up, but when i was filling it, the gas pump kept going and the fuel seem to be overflowing from the top of the tank... it was like watch you dump money down the drain.. does anyone know why the pump just wouldn't stop when full, and what i would need to check and repair so that next time i go to fill up it doesn't overflow like that Thank you

can someone please assist me, sorry new to the whole datsun world, as well was never good with electrical with any car, both my reverse lights don't work, did the obvious and changed the bulbs, and cleaned the sockets, followed the wires to make sure they aren't busted anywhere, still nothing, other than the fuses in the center council are there fuses somewhere else i should be looking...anyone have any ideas why they wouldn't be working. Thank you

please help, if anyone had this problem before can you please help, my fuel guage doesn't show the proper fuel level, well basically it doesn't work it stay at "E" how can i tell if the guage needs replacing or if its something else, please help and please be as descriptive as possible, sorry but i am new to the whole datsun world, these cars are different for me Thank you
