Become a Porsche Guy?
Funny that I stumbled into this thread while I wait for the head off my 240 to come back from Rebellos. I'm actually going to look at a '74 911 that a friend of mine has. I've seen it from afar but haven't paid much attention to it since I didn't know it was going to be for sale. I do know it has a 930 body kit on it with the wider fenders and whale tail spoiler but I don't know much more about it yet. I'll let you guys know what I find out and if it's something I pass on I'll let you know that as well

Found this under the dash
On my 73 the antenna switch is on the right side of the stock radio faceplate although its more of a rocker style switch than a toggle

240 Z Automatic Trans Radiator Fitting and 90 hardline needed
Hi, I'm having the stock radiator re done in my car and when I took it out, I noticed that the driver side hard line coming out of the automatic trans cooler has a kink causing a slight restriction. If anyone has the brass fitting and the 90 degree hard line still in good shape from an automatic trans I'm in need. I'm in Central Ca near Modesto. Please call or text me at (209) 405-4465. Thanks!!!

Thanks Hardway. It was definitely well cared for and an awesome survivor. The woman I bought it from said its got 155k on it, but it seriously looks like 55k with the exception of the seat bottom. Her late husband owned the car since 9/74 so its almost a 1 owner. She said her husband/boyfriend at the time/ used to put about 1k a week on it for awhile as he was working for the railroad stationed in Barstow and coming home to the Modesto, Ca area on weekends. The only other flaw I've found inside is a small crack on the console near the Ebrake but it might be repairable. Right now I'm working on the brakes bringing them back into working order. Then it'll be onto the cooling system and it'll be road worthy. I've got a paintless dent repair guy coming on monday to remove about 10 or so little dings in the body so it should look really nice when he's done I was going through some of the documents that came with the car and its got the original owner information and the warranty card in the owners manual. Pretty cool.

Don't forget flywheel and bolts, clutch and pressure plate.... I'm going to get this running and see if the trans will even operate after sitting so long before I decide what i'm going to do. If I swap, I'll most likely go 5 speed from the zx but we'll see. 240 4 speeds are super cheap and plentiful on CL. I'm actually going to pick up the car this afternoon. I'm super stoked!!!

Good eye, yes it is an automatic. I've never had a Z with an auto so I'm not familiar with how they shift etc but based on the condition of the car, it definitely wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Back in the 240 game
I've been away for quite awhile as I sold my 71 Racing Green 240z about 3 years ago and I've been regretting it since. Last week I was perusing Craigslist and found a car local to me that I went and checked out. Needless to say, it's an AMAZING Garage/Barn find!!! Been parked under cover in the same garage since 1997. 2nd owner since 1975 and the seller knows the original owner. Paint is completely original, interior is completely original, as is everything else except the owner put on some weber downdrafts shortly before parking it. ZERO rust and in amazing condition. I am so stoked and can't wait to get her home cleaned up and running again. It's a Lime Yellow '73 btw. I'll post some pics when I get them downloaded.

Need some turn signal help
Thanks for all the help with this guys. Apparently my turn signal switch is failing. I cleaned it some, but it's intermittent at best. I'm going to send it to Dave and have him go through it for me

Need some turn signal help
Thanks for all the help Steve. I really appreciate it. I'll dig into it a little more and see what I find out. Hopefully I can do some cleaning and get it working properly

Need some turn signal help
Steve, I checked with a multi meter and with the signals on only, they pulse the voltage up to approx 10.2 volts. Pretty much the same for both sides. With the hazards on only, the voltage pulses up to maybe 10.5. This is with the car not running FYI. If these readings sound appropriate I assume my problem is downstream towards the rear of the car?

Need some turn signal help
ok Steve will do. I had a good ground on the test light and checked each separately and the light was just barely lighting. I have a multi meter, but based on how the light is flashing, I'd say the voltage is VERY low

Need some turn signal help
Yes, I took apart the proper connector for the rear turn signals. The color codes match the diagram

Need some turn signal help
OK, so I took the connection apart under the dash per KTM's suggestion and started there. Hooked up my test light to the G/B and G/R wires and I'm getting power, but barely enough to light the test light bulb. Any ideas???

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll skin this cat yet...

Need some turn signal help
Yes, the fronts work but the rears don't work under any condition. I'm kinda stumped...

Need some turn signal help
First off, everything else electrical works on my car and the system has never been messed with at all. The only additions I've done to the car have been Dave's harness upgrades. My problem is both rear turn signals are not working. I've tried to trouble shoot them and I'm by no means a wiring guru. No luck so far. Would a bad rear chassis ground cause this? Any thoughts???
