Z06 Corvette? There are always very low mile examples still under warranty on C.L. near the top of your budget.

He does have the documentation and the car was only run on three track days. He also has chassis dyno numbers. I'm gonna go check out the car tomorrow hopefully.

Well, nothing wrong with it from the friend I talked to about it. It's a matter of economics for the guy selling as I'm told.

I know it's only worth what someone will pay.......BUT, what would a reasonable value be on a Rebello 3.2 that has only 3 track days on it? I believe it is running Rebello S.U.'s but don't know too much more about it yet. I may have an opportunity. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  5. After looking at the mechanical pump on the P79 it looks to be no problem at all to open that port. Add the eccentric and I'm good to go. I'm gonna K.I.S.S. I'll just make sure I've got the area sealed off well for any debris and open it up. Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys!
  6. Chris, that'll be helpful for sure if I stay on this path. Diseazd, I'm liking that idea. Do you think i could open the mechanical pump hole up without removing the head? I don't have any problem running the mechanical pump at all and it would simplify things for sure
  7. Steve, no it's a green wire on the 71 and I did see it on one of the diagrams i looked at. Where it dead ends I also find a brown wire and was just curious if anyone knew what it was as I didn't see it on the diagram. Diseazd, the head on the L28 doesn't have the provision for the mechanical pump as it's a P79.....now I could put my E31 on the L28......
  8. OK Rob. I haven't checked for the power there yet so that'll be next. The diagrams I looked at didn't show any relays either. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. I've gathered everything I need to make my carbed L 28 swap go smoothly. The only thing I'm a little confused about is the fuel pump. My car is a '71. I purchased the Carter in line pump per recommendations here. I did locate the green wire near my fuel tank so I can easily hook up the power for the pump. There is a brown wire there as well which I can't locate in any of the wiring diagrams as to what it's for. Anyone know what the brown wire is? Also, do I need to add a relay for this or would there already be one somewhere I'm not finding?
  10. If you don't mind a trip out to the valley, I've used Valley Balancing in Ceres with excellent results.

I think that looks really great. Nice work. Make sure and post up some pics of the completed project.
  12. All good tips here. Rust free cars are out there to be had if you aren't in a hurry and it sounds like you aren't. I'd be more focused on that than a sassy Rebello motor. Where are you located? If you're out west and the car has rust, I'd pass and keep looking.
  13. Thanks a bunch guys. I was fairly certain it would work, but wanted to be certain since it did come with the other module.
  14. Matt, Thanks so much for the info. All my lines are new. I'll try to locate the oil pressure cutoff switch since I still have the ZX I removed the engine from. Any idea where it is located on an '83 zx?
  15. I was reading through some posts regarding this, but wasn't sure if it would fly on the '83 dist due to having the E12 92 module. I'm just looking to try and avoid the expense of the E12 80 if possible
  16. I'm wondering if I can use the GM module on an '83 zx distributor?
  17. Long story, but I'm putting a L28 converted to my ZTherapy carbs into my 71 from an '83zx. I was planning on using the Carter pump above and I was wondering where I should tap my power from? Also, should I mount the pump near the tank? Don't mean to be a hijacker.....
  18. Thanks for all the info guys. I'll get as much from it as possible. All the mechanicals look to be in good shape and I'm going to go run it for a bit and do a compression test on the motor to check it's condition before deciding how much to take.
  19. I believe my stock ratio is a 3.9 correct?
  20. I don't really see the need for an R200 in my stock powered car so I would most likely keep the stock rear I have in there now and sell the R200 to someone that would need it.
  21. Sounds like I should have him drop it at my house and I'll do some dismantling........ gnose, Are you referring to the stock rear in my '71 or the R200?
  22. O.K. sounds good guys. If I do decide to use the trans, will I need to use the zx driveshaft and would the 5 speed be compatible with my stock rear end?
  23. I have access to an '83 non turbo for parts before it goes to pick n pull or wherever they send it. I will definitely take the distributor and the 5 speed in case I get the urge for a trans swap into my '71 in the future . Assuming the '83 trans will work in my car as I haven't really looked into it much. It's a relatively low mileage (120k) car that has some minor front end damage but it appears to have been well cared for when it was on the road up until recently. Is there anything on the car I should definitely take while i have access? What do you guys think?
  24. I've been eyeing the BRZ as well, but not so sure I'd sell the Z to get one. Have you driven the BRZ yet? They are non existent in my area so far.

saw an '83 zx at a friends tow yard that might donate a crisp 5 speed/distributor/and other possible parts to my stack...
