Take a look at the tires the steel belts deform A bad tire in back can give you a shimmy. Most bad steel belts are a bump or bubble. But i had a old BFG TA that looked fine felt good but i take the tire off and it leaned to one side when standing on it's own. It made the steering wheel pull to one side and shimmy. Two new tires upfront and felt like new car.

The car lot will pocket 2 grand or more on the sale. If you got to have that car offer 4500 have cash on hand. When they say no leave your # and walk away. Even at 4500 that is a lot for a zx. You should be able to find one for 3000 if you wait for it. And if you are thinking of financing it through a car lot don't do it.

I once had a 76 AMC Pacer the seat back was held up by a baseball bat. The seat fell back i want up the curb and into a tree at about 45mph. The guy was cutting his grass right there. He freaked out.

So what do you think about the DETROIT parking garage. At that time Nissan had there design center here i believe. Maybe someone from NISSAN was inspired by it. Just a theory.
  20. 'an annoying clunk in the drive-train' They came from the FACTORY that way new. I have seen this in more than one new car review on the z. http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_info_datsun_260z.htm But i will add this when i did rear wheel drum brake adjustment it helped with my clunk.

True in general. But we do have some Datsun lovers. I showed my 83 zx and 83 rx7 once. Right next to the old detroit cars. The owners of the Detroit cars look down on it. But when people started taking pic asking Q and a crowd gathers around the cars They knew people like these cars. There is a web site DETROIT DATSUN. The day i got my 83zx we stumbled on a car show in DETROIT older black guys i turned in the parking lot to check it out they loved the zx. So it can go ether way. I met a black guy that lives not far from me he has a mint 79 slick top zx 40,000 mi We talked a few times i gave him a tail light lens he was hit in the back. But then he got it in the side took out the wheel fender and door. The car sits in his driveway still today. I have been forcing DATSUNS on the Genreal public of DETROIT. See my posts on http://www.detroityes.com/mb/forumdisplay.php?3-Discuss-Detroit Same user name. BGM
