  1. 76 manual with a 77-78 engine edit: I tried MSA, Black dragon and courtesy nissan. None of them have the harness i need, or the proper connector so i could make my own without cutting wires. I googled bonzai and ALOT of sites came up, which one is the right one? I even tried that texas Z guy, He might have one in the one wiring harness he has but it is so jumbled up its hard to tell edit 2: I bought stuff from reddat once on ebay and i will never do it again, it took two weeks for a radiator bottle to arrive. I could have drove there and back in that time.
  2. Well, i was going to splice the wires but after looking it over i chose not to.. i'm looking for a good Zcar junkyard to call up / go looking. I've been over google a few times, and i've emailed a few people already. However its been 5 days no reply.. I'm starting to get desperate because these are all i need to drive the car. Here are pictures, and wiring diagrams of what i am looking for in case anyone has them and would part them.

Made of 100% pure japanese rust I'd buy it just for the engine & powertrain at 200$
  5. I spent my day ready for the following: Reduced gas prices due to millions of people leaving the earth, less demand in fossil fuels former churches are now scientific schools more common sense giving away christian homes to the homeless

Your car, any car is doing the "speed of light" down a freeway, the freeway does not end, and you cannot crash. You turn your headlights on, what happens?
  8. Reading that you do not have the FSM. Did you follow the torque specs in a haynes/chilton manual? I don't mean to insult your intelligence but you can't just go ahead and tighten down the bolts in any which way my friend. Take it all apart and follow the manual, you can get it for free in many places on the internet, a few people have linked websites that contain it.
  9. On the other side of the spectrum heres mine, i used VHT wrinkle paint on it. here it is painted, half finished Finished
  10. I'm trying to find info on what that vacuum switch solenoid does, when i get the car started ill check out what it does with a multi meter
  11. Yeah i have a vacuum port going to the dizzy for advance, here is a very crude picture of what i think i'll be doing, i will connect the bcdd when i get back to the engine bay. Can i leave the "vacuum switching solenoid" disconnected? Dark grey is disconnected / unused I have no heat / ac so all those vac lines will be plugged up so dont mind those, also the valve cover hose will eventually goto the afm boot because i dont have a 3way connector
  12. One thing i completely forgot to mention is the engine is from a 77
  13. Looks like im missing that smaller harness. That really sucks i don't see any on ebay either Edit: after looking at the wiring diagram, do i really even need the following? 1. EGR cut solenoid (my EGR is disabled) 2. Thermal transmitter - I can make a wire to the harness for this 3. Vacuum switch solenoid - Dont know what this looks like, i assume its a fuel saving feature since its for MT only, can i get by without it for now? 4. BCDD wire, i have this but don't know what the BCDD looks like (Yes ive tried google) is it on the bottom of the intake manifold? i dont have my engine in front of me.. 5. As for the water temp switch, can i splice the wire in to the missing harness
  14. i should mention, the other condenser i have is a blue/black wired one with a bullet connector on the end
  15. Thank you this is what i was looking for, below is where i am at now. I think the yellow wire connects to the thermostat somewhere, its the only other matching wire in the engine bay. (in that area) the other unkown plug is the box in the picture, the FSM says it goes back to engine harness 1, but i dont see where.. And finally, the small condenser. I see it loops back into the same wire it came from, but i am stuck... this is what mine looks like i have a grand total of 3 of these condensers with different types of bullet / flat connectors at the ends.
  16. Hey all, My 76 280z is currently a wiring hack job, And im requesting a picture of where the red and green dizzy wires go. (im assuming this connects to the terminal block bolted next to the coil?) Next i need to know how the coil is supposed to be wired to the ballast resistor, specifically the 2 connectors where the condenser connects, i don't know where the 2nd wire goes I understand these all lead to the ignition block, but i cant figure out how they attach in the engine bay chassis wiring

Hey sorry, i forgot to post the car model. Its a 76 280z I looked over the fsm some more and the output of the alternator is 60 amps (like above) so i'm just going to put an 80amp fuse their and hope for the best.

Whats the black fusible links amperage on the battery? I'm just going to get a car audio fuse block for this, i cant find it in the FSM or my haynes manual
  19. On rotary engines we use ATF to clean the carbon off apex seals in extreme situations edit: gonna explain why Sometimes a piece of carbon will chip off the rotor face and gets lodged between the apex seal and rotor housing effectively seizing the engine. You remove the leading spark plug and put about a teaspoon of ATF inside each hole, remove the FI fuse and attempt to turn the engine over, if it wont budge wait 20 mins - 60 mins - 3 hours etc etc until it rotates. Once you get it spinning put the plugs back in, put the fuse back in and turn the engine over, your neighbors will hate you if their windows are open.. however the white smoke screen it leaves behind is AWESOME
  20. Hmm, i was looking at the diagram below for #2, since #1 is for the dizzy vacuum advance Also the car came with that hose already on it, i'm not sure what the previous owner did but i'm changing all of these brittle vac lines with nice silicone ones, some were missing and some are now (obviously) mis routed, like the one on my valve cover, i'm just going to connect that to the AFM boot.
  21. Thank you, this engine should be installed and running this weekend, the last thing i noticed is right here next to the tb intake, the black hose connects to it.. where is this hose supposed to lead to?
  22. Thank you, If anyone is willing to take a picture of where this stuff goes it would be greatly appreciated. After looking at pictures i believe #2 goes to the charcoal can as well
  23. I found 1 picture in the fsm, it appears that #2 is the canister vacuum signal line, can anyone confirm this?
  24. Okay i've been reading pages of google and figured some stuff out, #1 is dizzy vacuum advance #2 is still unknown #3 is Charcoal can, i won't have one of these on my car for a while, can it be blocked off? #4 is AC as stated above, can this be blocked off? #5 runs back along the firewall to the other side of the engine bay, i dont know what this is for #6 is brake booster #7 Unknown
  25. I wont be running the charcoal canister until i find one, i've heard stories that it can be... dangerous in hot weather, here in NY it'll be 90 one day and 50 the next i think i'll be okay for a week or two. Can i just plug the AC and canister hole for now? 6 is the large tube at the back of the manifold, 5 is an L shaped fitting, here is a better picture Also for the dizzy vacuum advance, im a bit confused, i only have 1 hose port on the distributor, the other hose is for?
