Starts, but dies when revved, now...
i let it idle for 10 to 15mn to warm it up. fuel pump is good and is working normally, tested by pumping gas tank into gas can via fuel pump, gas tank was recently cleaned, filters recently changed. the wire was broken near the differential and driveshaft meet.

Starts, but dies when revved, now...
after searching the forums i was unable to find anything that would help: Here is my current situation: Vehicle: 72 240z stock l24 w e88 head, 3 screw roundtops stock 4 speed manual, only modification would be a fuel pump mounted at rear of car. Had the vehicle out one day, driving well, all was good. i hit a bump and the wire i have running next to the driveshaft for the fuel pump got caught on the driveshaft and tore, needless to say the car died. flash forward, fixed the wire, secured it better this time and all seemed good, fired her up, and she was once again idling. i hop in to drive after she was warmed up, blip the throttle and immediatly lose power, the car dies wait a couple minutes, start her up, same thing, idles, rev it up, and it dies. a week passes, and now she will barely start. battery fully charged. im assuming it is electrical, maybe i blew something when the positive wire for the fuel pump got tangled in the dri eshaft, but dont know where to look. any help would be much appreciated

only the Hazards and brake lights are working????
After a clutch renewal on my 4 speed 72 240z, i had a friend install my starter while i worked on the driveshaft, upon completion, and everything was assumed to be hooked up correctly, i hooked up the battery to go and try out the new clutch. as i walked to the drivers side, i noticed quite a bit of smoke and immediately removed the negative lead. Turns out, he had installed the negative lead to the starter solenoid and the positive to the block, dumbass.... so the other wire that leads to the starter solenoid (its yellow for me) fried up a bit, so i replaced the foot long section that was burnt. i go back to my car, and nothing. not a peep, no clock, no lights, no radio nothing, except my Hazards and when i depress the brake, the brake lights will come on, no headlights. I checked the fusebox, none blew. any idea where my problem could stem from??

Rusted In
Working on replacing the front struts on my 72z, which i am assuming haven't been replaced in 40 years because the darn struts are stuck in the housings. I have taken off the wheel mount and have been banging away and attempting to twist the strut free of the housing via opposing pipe wrenches. any success with this sort of situation???????

Painted, now stuck
thanks for the help, i went to a local auto paint store today to get some advice and supplies, im going to buff the crap out of it, and hopefully it will come out alright. i did not use a clearcoat because i did not have a clearcoat by the same brand and did not want to risk fouling the paint.

Painted, now stuck
Hello, i have a question about buffing. i just painted my 72 Z yesterday and now am a little stuck on where to go... it is a metallic acrylic lacquer, no clearcoat. any suggestions on where to start? i am getting lost in the 1500 to 2000 grit sand, buffing compounds, buffing machines, jungle. i do not want to mess this up, as i did a pretty decent paint job. thanks for all the help.

Fuel Pouring out of front Carb
I adjusted the float, and everything seems to be running fine so far, i have not been able to really work on it the past few days thanks for all the help! on a side note, would bad/ torn gaskets be the cause of my 3000rpm idle when mix is lean and idle is set to full low? Tim

Fuel Pouring out of front Carb
So i just got a 240z last week, always loved them now finally a chance to own one. i have been doing very well fixing her up but one thing has me stumped. When the car is running the carbs both appear to work fine, but once the engine is shut off, the front carb begins to pour out fuel from the opening where the air filter would normally go, this continues for a good 15 to 30 seconds after the engine is shut off. any ideas???
