  1. How close were they to what it's really worth?
  2. Lye will evidently clean the burrs of aluminum and beeswax is said to prevent build up but not contaiminate
  3. I have some for aluminum and they have a different tooth pattern. I have seen a tip on how to prevent this but can't remember what it was.
  4. I have a selection of carbide bits like that, but those little metal splinters go everywhere!!!

    GLWS!
  6. BTW, count your blessings. My daughter wrecked one of my vehicles again this week and flattened it on the back of a 2015 Lincoln. It could be worse!
  7. Zcardepot is $122 Zeddsaver is $120-160 with the rings there are some decent prices ones on Ebay search for "240z gas cap"
  8. I use a die grinder with a 3" cut off wheel to dress welds down most of the way. Then I use die grinders with 2" & 1" rolocs on them 36 grit. Sometimes I finish up with a 4" flap disc, but the flap disc can remove a lot of metal really fast and there is not a lot of metal thickness to start with.
  9. It took a lot of work and is pretty creative, but that doesn't necessarily translate into value!

Facebook marketplace has become very popular. My wife does the marketplace stuff for me
  11. I expect it will be a larger event than normal
  12. Yes, that is my understanding. The heads I have seen done are stripped clean of all the valve train and dressed on both sides. you end up with two flat perfectly true and parallel sides. Otherwise you add distortion to the cam. Also I haven't ever seen a milling machine that could mount a head with the valve train installed or a situation where you would want all the milling chips strewn throughout the valve train. I might be mistaken on this but this is how I believe it is done.
  13. I believe, that most of the machine shops I know of true both sides of the head when they flatten them. So that the towers are straight and true

    That's great progress!
  15. They are evidently available in the US at the Tire Rack. I don't know if the specific size is available though
  16. No Goodyears in that size or Yokohama's
  17. I have been looking for 14" tires lately. I am planning on trying a 225/60R14. I ran Eagle GT's in that size in high school with out too many dramas. That way I can use the 14" wheels I've got but so far the only tire I've found is a BFGoodrich tire or a Coker that is basically the same tire. Anyone know of another brand available?

Only made for 9 months If I did my math right, it's the second shortest on the list. Right behind the E4601 Would be interesting to know the curves on each of those dizzys

Yes, press one side clear, remove the ca. Then the other side should tilt some more and be clear or the cap can come off. Then it will come out of the yoke.

There are a number of cars that come through Copart as "normal wear". I think people use it for it's national exposure to dealers. Do a search one day for 1920-1970 cars and look at all the nice hot rods that show up

You probably can't fabricate a quality replacement for a lot less than $100 and 4 or 5 hours of time. The $50 difference seems to be a deal, considering

Those are very clean. Could some small manifold leaks do that?
