Rear Wheel Bearings - Can I Pound on Stub Axle
I would not beat on it! Slide hammer from the outside but better done while on the car or set it up in a hydraulic press and push it out. Press is my preferred choice

Complete Misfire on Three Cylinders
I know this is used sometimes in water jackets and in oil lines sometimes but I don't know enough to speak to when to do it and why.

78 280z turns off with turn signal/reverse lights
I like to solder connections when ever possible. Especially some where , like there, under the fusible links

Complete Misfire on Three Cylinders
Sometimes people will block holes like that to change or restrict water flow. Could have been flush plugged or sometimes they will flush plug them and then drill a hole for lower flow. Just a guess...

Possible Electrical Problem?
I'm no "sparky" but voltage and current are different. You could run 110volts through a module at very low amperage and good things wouldn't happen

Car surges forward when starting in N
Isn't it possible to put the rear case on but not in the neutral position? I believe that locks up the transmission some how. It's a foggy memory...

Speedometer Pinion Gear ( Cog ) Roll Pin
I would start it from the left side. Lay the back edge on a block of wood and tap it in. Add a little oil to help. Shouldn't need much encouragement

Possible Electrical Problem?
Possibly and if you have high current, it can fry things like ZedHead pointed out. Like ignition modules

Advice for buying
Looks like an early 240 with a late 280z hood. Be sure and post up the VIN when you look at it. Check for the data plates and the vin on the dash and the firewall. Check the usual rust areas for signs of patches or filler. Looks to be freshly painted

Running issues
If you shoot starting fluid into will it keep running? or you could add a fuel pressure gauge into the fuel line and see if the pressure is dropping off
-
Possible Electrical Problem?
Chase what ignition are you running? Points, Pertronix, 280zx, MSD? A voltmeter while idling will tell you if the 13volts at idle is really 13 volts. Hard to check at speed

1976 280Z Restoration Project
I totally understand. It's easy to stripe a metallic color when you paint it disassembled or have adjacent panels be different colors. I think it's the right choice to paint it assembled. Watch some you tube videos on taping cars. 3m also make a backer rod type product that is intended for use to help make soft egdes

1976 280Z Restoration Project
You have to be a very good painter to paint a metallic disassembled. I thought I would paint my car like this Mark, but since it's a solid color, I plan on painting it in pieces. The hardest challenge when painting all assembled is learning the right way to tape up the edges and gaps for soft edges and not too much overspray inside the gaps
