  1. Fogging spray is a storage oil that is primarily used for boat storage. You fog the engine while it's idling for storage between seasons, I don't have a brand off hand
  2. I would put some oil (or fogging spray) in the cylinders and turn it over by hand and leave it alone and as complete as possible. Easier to store and nothing to find or look for...

I ran an epoxy primer on my parts but it is blueish-grey so I top coated with a single stage black but flattening it was a challenge. the epoxy aught to hold up well and it has a pretty decent sheen to it

I hope it's a simple fix and you can get motoring soon. BTW take the time you need to heal, so you can be ready for any upcoming projects you feel like taking on...

Is it an epoxy primer? I spent a lot of time fussing with my paint to get the sheen I wanted...
  6. About time, smog testing 35 yr old cars doesn't make a lot of sense. The emissions contribution of these cars and older is negligible...

Let me see if I can describe how I worked around this. I have Classic Z car on my favorites bar in IE10. I logged in one day and selected the unread content button. A little further down there are some buttons that let you filter content. Under Content to display you can check all but the blogs button. If you don't display the blogs Bender won't show up. Once I have filtered the way I want I added it to my favorites bar. Whenever I come back it displays the content with those preferences. Also I just go down the list and right click on the bullet or balloon beside the thread title and open them in a new tab. I open 15 or so at once. While the last ones load I can start reading the first ones. No having to go back and forth. Once I read one I just close that tab. HTH

I saw that "softball" coming and resisted hitting it. Very funny was laughing out loud...

  12. I agree with Jim probably $40k or so. I think his estimation on condition is very good also. If I were gonna put it on Ebay I would list it on Ebay UK also. I have sold cars out of the country, they can load them on the truck when the funds are secure in my account. The seller took car of his own shipping arrangements. Take pictures of the car and the mileage prior to loading and forward them to the buyer. Buelller !!!? If you want, open a separate account for the money transfer so they don't have an account number where you keep your regular money. The car looks great, I don't know if the color will work against you or not. Is it close to a factory color?

Replacing the whole spare tire well is easier than welding in patches. Drill out the spot welds around the top of the rim and the whole wheel well comes out..

I bent the handle on my leveler the first time I used it so, I double nutted one end and use an impart with a socket to adjust it with no effort...

That use to be a $200 car but that is a good point about the radio and the some other parts. What you can see of the dash isn't cracked either. The bumpers look straight but you know they probably need plating. $1,500 seems like a lot for a parts car. I would be amazed if that car were salvageable...if it were in the bottom 200 vin's maybe...

If you are gonna start diagnosing electrical problems then you are gonna need an electrical meter. Go get a moderately priced meter $40-60 would do it. Advance Auto, Lowes, Home Depot all have them. You need a meter that checks continuity and DC voltage 40V or so...

Doug , Another option is find a reputable shop in your area for z cars and have the car towed to them, and them fix it for you...

About that time they were making a lot of modifications to the fuel that was available. Could have been a little of both, the cars being sensitive to heated fuel and the fuel being more volatile due to the additives and later ethanol From Wikipedia "Gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol began a decades-long growth in the United States in the late 1970s. "
