That's a very nice Z as they go. Have fun and try to take good care of it, as it will appreciate with the best of them. Welcome in... Charles

I wondered if anyone had seen this thread...It seems 85 have seen it. Once again I appear to be unique... C

I couldn't figure out where to put this. I didn't know if anyone had a Caswell plating setup they wanted to get rid of? Thanks, Charles

    Which one...? C

Love it! I use to ride a lot but ended up getting hit a couple of times. I stick to convertibles now, but I love beautiful bikes... Charles
  7. Woods dry but not that much... Charles
  8. Buy one rod and have your machinist magnaflux them for cracks, shot peen them and balance them and you will be money and quality ahead... C
  9. I watched a mechanic use a power buffer and Meguiars Mirror glaze to clean a windshield up with deep wiper scratches in it. None of the abrasive methods will work with the defrost strips. Toothpaste, bar clay, car wax all work because they have fine abrasives in them... C

I didn't see the pile of parts for looking at the yellow bike. Like that! Charles

What head are you looking for? The car looks great and the lack of damage in the front end is really nice... Charles

I started a 73 Mach I with my son several years ago. He lost interest so it is sitting right now. They rust every bit as bad as Z's or worse. Around the windshield, cowl, doors, floors, quarters, torque boxes etc. I would love to get rid of it but it needs a lot of metal work. That makes it difficult for most people to tackle. I have the same problem of not enough potential value versus costs to restore... C
  13. Occasionally I see used ones on Ebay for reasonable money. You would want some pictures of the throats so you don't buy the same problem. On a different note I thought the flat spot was caused by a different issue, but I can't recall it right now... Charles
  14. I have driven old Z's and the newer 350z's. They really have very different driving experiences. I like the older feel of the early Z cars but I am sort of "Vintage" too. I would image a 280Z making reasonable numbers is gonna feel slow and unrefined against a 300+ hp tweaked 370z... my 2 cents Charles
  15. Ah Pantera, also one of my favorites. I had a friend a while back who had one. Beautiful car and I fit in that one. Although those prices have gotten high recently too. Charles

Posting a picture of what you need might help... C
  17. I'm with you Captain. In high school I found one for $10,000. My grandmother offered to loan me the money but I declined. I often wonder how that would have worked out. The only other problem is I don't fit in old Ferrari's as I'm 6'5". My head sticks out above the roof... C

I have one on a car that is too rusty to mess with, but the valance I believe is fairly new. It appears to still have the parts number sticker on the back side... Charles

Yeah I don't think I would be happy about getting a head that looked like that...just really hard to get all that grit off it with out disassembly. C

Ah fire and explosions... once burned my eyebrows off with a homemade device. Made from fireworks, wouldn't light. Blew on it a little... It lit... Charles
  21. ABSOLUTELY! I have bought used JDM taillights out of Australia for that. For yellow turn signals I would absolutely give that! The last set of NOS JDM taillights I think were $1800. So I think $400 is a deal! If it's not your cup of tea, so be it. Many Z owners though love the look of the JDM taillights and as for safer, Americans are use to yellow turn signals so this is probably a step in the right direction too. Charles

My vote would be no on the fuel cell but I am just guessing. The hit didn't look that hard but near the stock filler neck... C
