That would be good info for the technical resource area. Glasurit paints are still available, as far as i know. Maybe people could add there paint formulas for factory color match and provide the specs for the paint they used

That's super cool you were able to make that contact Kats!
  5. 18 inches might be enough to get into the transmission. I'm not sure you're gonna be able to sort this without removing the rear transmission case

I did it this way, post #578
  7. That too. Although all my BMW's are 😉
  8. The pictures are great! I would love to make another cross country trip...
  9. I suspect a number of reasons: With fuel injection you get really precise temperature control for emissions purposes but only when you need it Faster warm up to reduce emissions More horsepower The ability to strip heat away faster when the AC is running No big mass on the front of the engine spinning around that can potentially disintegrate That's all I can think about off the top of my headache 😞
  10. Electric fans can also be setup to come on with the AC or speed up when the AC is used. Another anecdote, if mechanical fans are superior why are they pretty much no longer used on new vehicles?

So I need some advise. I need to do the vinyl roof trim and the A pillar trim in the car. If I had been thinking, I would have done this while it was on the rotisserie, but I wasn't! I did the headliner this way. I don't know why I didn't do the rest then... So which order do the pieces go in? Sides first, then windshield header? Any pictures of how the ends are folded or detailed? What is the best way to go about it? Foam onto the vinyl first or foam on the car first? Glue applied to the vinyl or onto the car? Spray glue or yellow contact cement? I have been procrastinating on this but it's time to get it done. Thanks for any help C

This will be unfortunate news if windshields are the new NLA! That will make installation that much more stressful
