Restoration of BringaTrailer 240z - HLS30-35883
@inline6 Garrett, I meant to respond the other day but must have gotten side tracked. Flattening agent is really tough! It is basically silica or glass in solution that you add to your paint to make the finished surface not smooth. That gives the satin or semi gloss look. The problems come in though in technique. If you lay it on too heavy the paint dries out glossier. If you lay it on too thin it looks flatter. Really tough to be consistent. I have done some of this with catalyzed paint but lately I have just switched to rustoleum for the speed aspect. Even out pf a spray bomb the thickness wet changes the finished appearance. C

Still struggling with car at idle after 8 years
That's unfortunate considering the numbers are not accurate and basically useless. I agree with buying your own gauge and doing it yourself. I am sure you have the skills to accomplish this with a little instruction from us.

Steering column lower u-joint replacement part
Yes, those are not designed to be serviceable. You can take a dremel and grind off the stakes. Then push the caps out. Restake it when reassembled

So I spent a little more time on the car today I had this filler neck and it was stiff but not pliable. So I soaked it for about 36 hours. Made all the difference in the world. Really amazing... Turns out it needs to be pretty pliable to get it installed Who was looking for these? Also I have this selection of gas pedals: Which was is correct for my 71? 2 have plastic pivots and one has a metal pivot. The one with the metal pivot is also shaped a little differently

I agree with Zed. Numbers are way low. Bad gauge, bad methodology or bad rings... Updated signature would help the memory Multispark would be interesting maybe Megajolt? Although tuning could be an issue... I would want something as hot as I could get. Blow your fingers off hot! 😉

Very low unless those are not in PSI. Plugs 5&6 seem a little lean. I know we have gone through the ignition system before but don't remember everything that was tried. An all new hotter ignition system might be worth a try before you dig into the motor

Steering column lower u-joint replacement part
Im sure I documented that somewhere on the forum but I can't find it. I thought it was in my build thread but maybe not. Maybe the librarian can find it? As I recall the shoulders of the spider were too wide to tip into the yoke. So they had to be shaped down to fit in

But it doesn't make sense that only #4 does it and not 5&6. We also went throught ignition trying to move it and couldn't

I'm confident it was put on before the plugs when new. Just makes replacement challenging

Yes, I used that part. It can be a little tricky to reassemble. I had to clearance the one I got some. Not every needs to though.
