  1. I have what could be described as a white noise coming from the rear end of my 72 240. soon as the car starts to roll anything over 5km/hr, it sounds like someone has left an old analogue radio on a hissy channel of static under the rear diff area. the noise is not loud and could easily be ignored with music or aggressive driving, but just slow cruising makes me wonder if there's a problem brewing under there. at first i thought it would be just the brake shoes slightly rubbing on the drums, but the sound doesnt change with brake pressure. I'm thinking i have a bearing in the rear end thats starting to get noisy. diff fluid is relatively new. any thoughts would be appreciated. is this noise normal in anyone else's 240?
  2. After seeing the car in person, I completely agree. the car looks great, and drives even better. when you guys get together, let me know, I'm looking for a s30 cruise anytime.
  3. OK, No more waiting for me to drive to your place. get over here with that car, let's go for a rip. centennial st. holland landing. your car looks great Chris. way to go for staying focused and keeping on track. what a great time of year to get a new car on the road. salt is gone and the weather is perfect temps. still looking forward to seeing it in person.

looks like the same reading as mine, and mine is running well.
  5. i went with the eibachs and blue tokico's. on my 72 240 I am happy with the ride and handling improvements. one thing however, I found also that the ride height in the rear was a little lower than the front. Personally, i kinda like that look. with the right pair of rims and rubber I find it gives the car a good stable appearance. just recently, i added a thicker front and new rear sway bar. It seems to have helped with the ride height a little bit. handles way better now also. just my .02$ i would recommend the eibachs and blue tokico's without hesitation.
  6. ive driven up and down your road about six or seven times in the past couple weeks, hoping to maybe see the front of your car sticking out of a garage somewhere. not sure which house is yours. actually, beaton road isnt too bad of a cruise, if traffic is light. on tuesday we cruised by with a couple cars on our way to play hooky from work, out on mono road and hawkley valley road. cruised by but didnt see any sign of you at any of the homes. looking forward to seeing that beast leaving me in the dust soon. got a few parts from z therapy a couple months ago, very pleased with their product. it'll be worth the wait. i have the ztherapy videos if you would like to view them, let me know.

looking for valve guide seals for my L26 with e88 head. Im located in canada if it matters, any info or leads would be appreciated as my local nissan dealer is useless and MSA doesnt seem to have them either. thanks for any help.
  8. i should add that i've read this,http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/cam/index.htm and couldnt tell you what the durations and angles would result in. anyone have any experience with what this cam might be like in comparison?
  9. Previously, someone told me to look on the end of the cam on my L26 engine, for a 'c'. apparently this cam had some different characteristics that would effect performance levels. well i had the chance to adjust valve lash the other evening and while i was in there i investigated the stamping on the end of the cam. It is stamped 'B' or 'D'.(letter is very lightly stamped so it's hard to identify, but i'm pretty sure it's a 'B' anyone have info on what this cam is and how it performs in comparison to others? thanks for any help
  10. I think the cortina is close, but the bend lines on the side door and body panels are lower than the top of the wheel wells, Im thinking Vauxhall is correct.
  11. I just removed my stock york system that was original also. and Yes,, the lower rad hose had a small dimple where it had been rubbing against the unit for some time. sorry cant offer a fix as i removed everything and just purchased a new hose.
  12. congratulations to russell strathdee. I'm thinking he got this one: Vauxhall GT.
  13. since everyone i've asked has said 'some kind of old datsun', I thought i would ask you folks for your thoughts. saw this sweety on the road today. Im thinking an AMC product? anyone want to tell me what kinda car this is?
  14. grannynot, im waiting on tires that are back order. so i cant drive mine at the moment. mine is running well now. could you make use of my coil or anything for trail purposes?
