Oh what fun it is to tear down old rusty u-joints! What a PITA! Can;t even get the clips off without using the torch. I think I;d rather remove spindle pins. Merry Christmas, John

LED bulbs Don't work for turn signals
I believe that the stock flasher unit is heat operated. You would need one for LED. Threads on this site will give you more info.

Well I did the road trip and bought the 79,280 engine and tranny. Transmission appears to be early 79. O.K. for my stock 72, 180 rear end?

Hi all, My 240 engine needs work, I found a low mileage 79, 280 engine with N-47 head and tranny. What am I looking at to do this transplant? I'll be using S.U.'s I want to be clear on what I may need for parts or change's I need to do. Thanks, John

Good for you! Down load the service manual from CZCC, study this site. 99.99% of questions can be found in these threads or members will help you with problems Take your time to do it right. Your Z has been in your family from day one. It's a treasure that you can't replace and you could enjoy your entire life. Have Fun, John

Water pump blues
I thought it would be a good idea to replace my water pump while the engine was out, but NOOO! Two bolts broke, the 12mm at 7 o'clock, and the 10mm at 10 o'clock. With a broken thermostat bolt I think I now have the complete set.
