  1. Got the head back from the shop. Shaved 1mm (.040) total and some porting done. Mesured the chambers to 45cc, perfect just what i aimed for. Cr will be around 10.0
  2. I have the E88 head, shaved .040 shimed towers. I also think that it depends on your head but not sure. But thats what they said regarding the stage 3, that they send 175. My friend used a N42 instead of his P79 and the 175 Pads were a bit on the small side. So i hope my 190 will be perfect but i dont know untill next week when i get my head back from the shop. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic12e04/10-2041
  3. Correct, he did put a p79 in his order. But he called to check. They said that they always send 175 pads but that they were out of stock and they didn't know when they would have them available. Sounds a bit strange to me.
  4. Looks like I only can buy valvoline vr1 20-50 or 5-50 or 10-60 here in Sweden.
  5. Ill look for a mark on it ; ) I got 190 lashpads aswell, my friend got 175 for the same cam, he bought it 3 weeks before me? my engine will probobly be ready to start in 2-3 weeks. Its going to be fantastic...i hope ; ) thanks for the info
  6. The 10w-50w would maybe be a better choise?
  7. Is valvoline vr1 20w-50w a good choise? It for a weekend driven car, not a race car.
  8. I will take off another .020 so it will be shaved a total of .040 That should put my cr somewere around 9.7 And your right they should correct the e88 head in those engine calculators.
  9. will be slightly ported. Towers will be fitted with shims. It already had some shims on. Even with 10.5 comp i can still run full advance (lots of people do that here in europe) because we have 98 octane at every station here in Sweden. Will aim for close to a cr of 10, probobly ill end up slightly less.
  10. Ok, found some more info about the head. "when installing bigger n42 valves and unshrouding them you can easily ad 2-4 cc to the combustion chamber" Anyone who can confirm? If that's true, my mesure looks right. 47.8cc to begin with then ad say 3cc do to valves etc. Then there's .020 shaved from the head and I guess that takes away 2cc (not sure about that but close) and were at 48.8cc. So I guess my measured volume of 49 were right. So I guess I take of another .020 or .030 to get to the 10.0 cr
  11. I guess it's a late e88 head 47.8 cc. I may have mesured wrong, guess so. Because it has been shaved .020 I guess the chambers would be something like 45cc? But then I don't know if the larger valves and changed seats have any effect on the cc? Car comes from California.
  12. I might settle with the cr i have now, somewere around 9.4-9.5. then im defenetly safe regarding issues with pinging. Will run 98 octane so I guess I would have no problem running full timing. We will see in a couple of weeks how it turns out.
  13. I mesured my chambers and got 49cc. Should be 47.8cc original. It has bigger valves N42 size. And the seats have been swapped to steal. Can this be a reason that the cc are higher or am I just not good at measureing ; ) Im looking at about 9.4 in cr at the moment. Will that be enough to work with the cam Msa calls stage 3? It has been shaved .020 Would prefer a cr of around 10.4. What do you guys think? Drop it at the machine shop and let them measure it maybe is the best way?
  14. Thanks! Resemble begins in a couple of weeks. Valves are installed already. Ofcourse I could cc the chambers, would be the best way. I just know that I would be ok if it were the later model or at least a bit safer. I have a felpro head gasket, anyone know the compressed thickness. 1mm is what I remember but not sure. Oem Nissan is a bit thicker isent it?
  15. It has steel seats and larger valves 35mm and 44mm. If its a late version (guess it is) i might be ok with cr around 10.5 with a msa stage 3 cam and 98 octane?
  16. Hi Does anyone know if this E88 head is an early version or a later? Im a bit worried about the cr because it has been shaved 0.40 (1mm) and im putting 0.40 over flattops in the N42 block now(had dished pistons before).
  17. I'm running 3:9 diff and it's perfect together with the zx gearbox i have. I would look for a 3:7 or 3:9 (if you have what the call a 280zx close ratio gearbox) if I were you.
  18. It was an issue of the hight.
  19. Next person better read up before they start a thread about making these. Better to Know that you will make it then Thinking you will make it.
  20. 5 % import duty!! Lucky UK bastards ; ) I think we pay 16-20% here in Sweden. ( or we are supposed to do, but there's ways to cut those costs )
  21. This is my original euro spec 240z. The rear wing (original mounted on euro spec cars) color matches the taillight surrounding. It's a must in my opinion if you don't do it in body color. Both look good but I like silver cars better if the wing are body color. Sadly I sold the car a couple of months ago.
  22. I like my headlight covers, they fit nice on silver cars. You should start hunting for a set.
