I'm excited but Leary. It can be good but will it be great enough to be considered a Z?

I'd like to see a 72 for either Joliet, Champaign, or Joliet IL . Believe mine came from Danville but a Joliet one would fit its current home area for nearest point of sale. Was Illinois abbreviated IL or ILL back then?

I saw the maco shark at a Bloomington gold show when it used to be held in Springfield IL many years ago.

I sent a couple emails to the Chicagoland group, the Midwest Z Club, but had no response.

Nikkibid1972 ships fast too. I bought several items from them.
  10. Oh and mine is in a couple a gauges English included.
  11. Was there a spark plug decal on 1972 240Z's in the US? I stumbled upon a valve cover with the decal and was able to remove it without destroying it. The car was stripped in a salvage yard and I believe a newer model but it caught my attention. Any advise on if they came on May 1972 cars would be great.
  12. The next Jay Leno's garage is about the evolution of the Z. http://www.cardesignnews.com/site/home/display/store4/item266184/

Zeddsaver has the throttle cable boots with metal collars. Just ordered two of them. $30.00 for the set but with Norm I know the quality and accuracy is there.

The company emailed me back finally. Told me to go to a local auto parts store. They could not help me. Classy response from a company that makes the item I want but cannot find by me. Calling them next.
  15. Then there is me... Living in the rust belt called IL and only see maybe two others in the course of an entire year. Unless you count the three in a scrap yard I ran across last weekend. Wrong years for me.

MSA has great carpet kits. They sell cut pile and loop options.
  21. My 4 year old tells everyone that my 72 is "daddy's race car"
  22. Added new scuff plates and new door latches.
  23. Ok I have to admit that is pretty cool. Just proves that there is still a lot of nos items still out there.

I removed the front fender Datsuns. But when I added the BRE spoiler I added The Datsun and 240z to the righthand side of it. Roof and hood badges are in the correct locations. I'm also looking for a dealer badge from an Illinois dealer. Preferably one that was open in 1972 to add as well.

Ford was a genius with too much money. He got bored and sent his people out across the us to capture America buying up what ever they thought was significant.
