  1. Silvey, Thank you for your service. I see you're from Ohio. (You must be the one selling the Konig Rewinds on CL in Mt Vernon.) This site never fails to impress me with the wealth of knowledge that everyone has and is willing to share. (Kudos to all of you.) Once it all soaks in, and when you get back to the states, join ZROC if you have not already. There are several members with racing experience who may be able to help you. They are a great group of z enthusiasts who are always willing to help a fellow z friend.
  2. I've seen the replacement frame rails and floorboards advertised by Zed Findings, but I've never used them. Anyone out there have any experience with them?

I don't suppose an old black and white photo of my first 240z 35 years ago would be any help. It was 918 orange!

I found acorns and the foot of a large bird behind my tail lights.

Beautiful. They did not look that clean in the showroom.
  7. Nice!

My 1974 Peugeot PX10 hangs on the garage wall keeping the 1970 240z company. They prefer '70s rock and roll. Used to road race the bike in high school, rode it in a few triathlons, but I don't ride it much anymore. I'd like to get a modern road bike. Any suggestions (under $1K)?

I saw that auction. I've never heard of aftermarket Series 1 D hubcaps, but I wish they existed. then maybe I could afford a set.

Welcome ZCarJazz! I'm (and my Z is) originally from NE Ohio too. Hope you've conquered (or avoided) the rust! Post those photos.
  12. Beautiful. Welcome aboard.
  13. Today I drove the 240Z five miles to the body shop where it will get some rust repair and new paint. This was its longest drive in 35 years!
  14. I am new to the forum and would not have known to go to the online spreadsheet if it weren't for this thread. And look, we all keep checking in on it.
  15. Bryan, we each document our own numbers on this spreadsheet: http://www.editgrid.com/user/mlwilliams/Z_Car_Registry
  16. Dave, Glad you made it home safely. I love that push-button start! My wife's Altima has it, and you just have to have the smart key in the car. Does yours require a smart key, or does the car start without a key now?
  17. I added my information today. I'm within 14 of Eurton.
  18. OK. The decision was all black. Just got the wheels back, new tires installed. Looks good.
  19. Looks like an Ohio car.
  20. I just took my original steel wheels to the body shop to have them restored. They are the early type that are painted silver on the inside and black on the outside. Am I wrong to have them painted all black?

I had a 918 Orange car and I now have a 905 Red car and most people think they are the same.
  22. Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely be restoring the metal emblems at some point, but I'll have the plastic ones put on in the meantime. Also, thanks Stephen for the clarification on the "chrome z". I never knew that. I'll definitely be watching for that in the future. Keith
  23. Thanks for the feedback. I think I will have the new plastic ones installed, and keep the original metal ones, and reinstall them after they are restored. The car has a build date of 5/70. Carl, what do you mean by "Chrome z"? Keith
