  1. The 260z is a great car that you don't have to feel guilty about upgrading. You can easily make it a better performer than a stock 240 or 280 and end up with a great driver.

I went to see Cars 2 last night with the wife and kids. I was impressed with the number of Z cars shown in the animated scenes of Tokyo. I saw at least four S30 cars and there was a large gong shaped like a second-generation 240z hubcap. I'm sure that went over the head of everyone else. They also had a nice homage to Paul Newman (who played the voice of Doc Hudson in the first Cars movie) by showing a Doc Hudson museum and a moment where characters fondly remembered him. Not an an academy award winner, but a fun movie for kids and car-lovers alike. http://www.takefiveaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/WM2-Thunder.jpg

Very nice. Good luck and keep us posted.
  10. My 1970 240z is in the shop getting painted and I was wondering if anyone knows if the area under the cowl panel should be painted the body color or some other color. The photo below shows the area with the panel removed. There is overspray from a previous paint job, but it looks like the area itself was never red (in this case). It almost looks like the grey that is used on the rear finish panel or the grille. Any thoughts?
  11. Thanks for the advice.
  12. I know there are a lot of members here from the SF Bay area... Do any of you know anything about this car that is for sale on Craigslist? My daughter is moving to Palo Alto next month and is interested in this car. (She gets her good taste from her father. )
  13. This is a good question. My '70 still has a perfect dash, but it has been in storage for many years. I think sun and heat are bad for the dash. I only wipe mine with a damp cloth. I don't use any cleaners at all.
  14. I LOVE your car! It's beautiful.
  15. The engine compartment is surprisingly complete. The shell would make a great planter box in my garden.
  16. Great video, Steve. What was the time frame from beginning to end of your restoration?
  17. This clip is on my 1970 and needs replacing as well.
