Hood Closing Alignment
Are you saying the bolts/screws that hold the hinges to the car or the bolts that hold the hood to the hinge? I have tried the latter of the two...but it did not move forward enough to move the latch beyond the catch. Walter - Thanks for the thought. I think if the hood still closes by itself, it still can work to catch the hood when you release it. (that probably does not make much sense

Hood Closing Alignment
Hi All. I notice that the hood on my 76 Z does NOT close without having to pull back the hood latch on the hood. I have tried loosening the bolts that hold the hood to the hinge..and pushing the hood toward the cabin. Does not seem to help. In fact, it starts changing the fit and finish of the hood to the fenders. I also tried adjusting the latch and keep...but remains off enough to still be a minor issue. The pull release in the cabin seems to work fine. The hood pops up, then I pull on the latch to release the hood. Just coming back down...it hits the point of the latch on the latch-keep. This appears to be the original hood to the car...and it has not been in any accidents. Perhaps I can just grind the latch angle down some. Has anyone had this issue and tried to fix? I know my 78 Z dropped all the way down and closed without having to pull back the latch.

Weatherstripping - before snow hits!
Thanks Philip! Do you know if the flat part that lies on the channel is glue down? Stephen

Weatherstripping - before snow hits!
I applied the main rear hatch seal today. I am also trying to apply the outer rear hatch seal that comes in three pieces from Black Dragon. There was not any on the car in which to reference...so not sure how it lays on there. The two sides are alike in profile, while the top is a different profile. Any ideas on how they should lay inside or ontop of the channel? I through in some pics on possibilities. I just don't want to get it wrong...taking it off after gluing it on would be a pain. HELP!!

Center console and turn signal question
Thank you all. Looks to be the original steering wheel. I'll definitely keep the book mark on compatibilty... That helps a lot.

Center console and turn signal question
Thanks. That opens up my options on the center console. Every where I have been looking seems to point that they are no compatible. I imagine that it is not restore "correct" for the year. Thanks again!

Center console and turn signal question
Have purchased a fairly nice 76 280z. There are a couple of items that I am working on and thought I would ask the group here: 1: Would a center console from a 77/78 work fine (without mods) in a 76? 2: Turn signal auto return does not work when turning left or right. Without digging into it yet, is there a general fix? I'm guessing I will have to dig into it to find out.

76 280z New Owner Questions
Think one has issues either way. Metal=rust (especially right where it touches the body). Rubber= cracks, shrinks, and very difficult to replace. Arrrgh!! If anyone has one laying around, I would be interested in buying it.

76 280z New Owner Questions
Thanks Dave! I'll do just that...make a template. The Sight Shield is a piece of rubber (77/78 was metal) that goes between the bumber and the car....to hide the space between the two. I'll see if I can succeed in adding a pic.

76 280z New Owner Questions
Hello there. I just purchased an 76 280z in fairly nice condition. However, I notice a few things that are differenet than my 78 Z that I had many years ago. With that, I thought I might ask a couple of questions to the wiZe: 1. There is no spare tire or rear board to cover the spare tire. Does the 76 not have the same cover board as the 78? If not, is there any board that lies beneath the carpet...and if so, does anyone have any idea where I can get one? (perhaps adapt a 77/78 cover board?) 2. The rear rubber bumper "sight shield" is cracked in several spots. Any idea where one can pick up another....or even make another? I hope having two questions in one posting is appropriate. Please let me know if I need to do anything different. Thanks in advance for any insight.
