Into the Archives
Was in the process of gaining access to my non functioning power antenna and I noticed this sitting in the wheel well area. Thought nothing of it until I unfolded it and realized what it was. Cripes, this has been riding around in there since the car was built in '74:classic: Reminded me of stories I used to hear about Detroit iron of the mid 60's with soda cans rattling around in the fenders. I'm going to stick it on Ebay and see what I can get for it;) Dean

Period correct wheels
At this point I don't think our insurance carrier can answer this for sure. I'm thinking with the draconian rules we have in BC pertaining to collector car status I'll just get my Rewinds and be done with it. Thanks for all the information everyone, it could still come in very useful. Dean

Period correct wheels
Looking for some aftermarket wheels for my 260. Can anyone tell me what styles would be period correct? I like the look of the Konig rewinds but not sure these would let me qualify for collector plate status here in BC. Thanks Dean

260 head options
Dealing with a bone stock early model 260z. Has the low compression e88 head--- 8.3:1 I believe. Is it a worthwhile upgrade to have the existing head upgraded to the bigger valves or should I just purchase an earlier lower cc combustion chamber head? If a head swap, what is one of choice? I want better performance but not an engine that requires higher than 92 octane. Thanks Dean

Small world Chris:) Did you sell the car locally or take it back to Ontario? Dean

New guy from Vancouver
Thanks guy's. Knew I could be stepping into a hornets nest with the mention of a motor swap, but I've changed my mind on that one, it's staying original, with a few HP upgrades---open to suggestions there. I feel a bit lucky to find one this nice and I think it deserves not to to butchered up. I'll post some more pictures when I'm home from work tonight. Dean

New guy from Vancouver
Hey all, Just purchased a 1 owner, unmolested, and unrestored 1974 260z to keep my Factory Five Cobra company. Originally was thinking of doing a V8 conversion but am now thinking I'll keep it mostly stock. Great site and I look forward to learning some more about the early Z's from you guys.
