  1. I know I'm bringing this post back from the dead, but....I ran into a Shori relay failure and found a replacement relay from O'Reilly's. Thought I should post it I case someone wanted to buy one over the counter instead of ordering/rewire a different relay. I picked up a BWD R4136 relay, and that did the trick. Doing a quick google search, and it looks like Advance Auto parts has them too.
  2. Steve, this post may have pushed me into using the Vitalino Turbo mirrors I have laying in my garage. Thanx for sharing the pictures.

There is one that wraps around the two triangular holes, and a flat one that covers the top hole/indention. I'm guessing they are just there to hold the vinyl tight, and to try to prevent holes from being punched in the vinyl.
  4. You can't take Urban Dictionary too serious, that's just the first thing I thought of getting a definition for Bad arse off of. I don't usually quote anything off of it. Bryce
  5. I think this link to Urban Dictionary explains it best. Bad arse-1. adjective. having extremely favorable qualities 2. adjective. pertaining to a person or thing that is rugged, strong, and/or ready to show these... Unfortunately the internet blocker at work won't let me see more than what I just typed. Bryce
  6. I also have a 73 with this type of coolant pipes. You might think about replacing it with an earlier 240z thermostat housing. They only have a single coolant fitting instead of 3 fittings like yours. It is a smaller size fitting than the large one you have the sensor in, but I'm not sure what size it is. I can check if you want me to sometime when I'm at home? My thermostat housing wouldn't stop leaking and when I went to get a 73 housing I found that they are NLA. So I capped off the intake manifold pipes, and sized down the coolant hose off the single fitting. Bryce

I agree with 5thhorsemann. I too used to think if I shaved it the rear wouldn't be protected. When you actually think about how thin the factory metal bumpers are, they won't save you enough to worry about.
  8. I have one, but not sure how much shipping would be. I'm in Kansas, pm me if you are still looking for one. It's off of my 73 240z if that matters? Bryce

At least 4 of the 5 are for the Automatic Shifter gear indicator piece. On my 73, little brackets screwed in at the four corners of the console shifter opening. Bryce
  12. <------This guy is Jealous. Good looking car:D
  13. So....I happened to lay the 72 and 73 bumper together the other day. They are practically identical in size, and length. The mounts are very different, as everyone knows. The problem you would run into, if you were thinking about tucking in a 73, is the mounting studs. They stick out alot and it wouldn't look as good without the middle filler piece covering the mounting area. There isn't much room to tuck with the middle filler piece in place. Bryce

Thanx for the interesting read. I had never seen or heard of that. Bryce
  16. Cut and threaded shifter today, and installed Nismo Shift Knob. Looks great, but I hope 3 inches off isn't too short. I have to get the car going before I can test it out. Bryce
  17. Hey Guys and Girls, Turns out I didn't have 2 spare stub axles in my parts car. They were there, just severely damaged. Found some on Craigslist and both are good, here are some pictures of the stub axle I'll use, and the one that started this whole mess. Bryce
  18. Just purchased some 260z seats with tracks off Craigslist. Only $20, bargain in my opinion. Using best seat tracks between these and my 73's originals for my Corbeau seats.

The radiator is only different because of the internal transmisson cooler for the automatics. You only have to worry about that if you are going from manual to automatic. You could easily add an external trans. cooler if you run into this problem. I just put caps on my trans. cooler fittings when I did my swap to manual. Bryce

Yes they are interchangeable. I checked by looking at Motorsports replacement windshield specs. Here is the link. Good luck on purchasing your second project. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/30-3051 Bryce
  21. Here's another picture, my camera is too old and cheap. It does have the 2 flat spots on the side you guys are talking about. I used my wife's Sony and was able to get a better shot. Bryce
  22. Zed Head and zKars, that makes me feel better. I was just shocked that it broke, and worried about the other breaking the same way. Do you think the 170 ft/lbs. is ok, or should I try it to at least the 183 the manual shows? Thanx for your help. Bonzi Lon, yeah not many challenge me in an arm wrestle Luckily my 72 parts car is a perfect candidate for being a donor. If I didn't have that car here with the parts I need I would have been alot more angry . It's just going to slow me down considerably. I have to get some other things removed on the parts car before I can remove the stub axles. Bryce
  23. Hey everyone, I have been working on replacing my rear wheel bearings for some time now. Got the new bearings and seals in no problem, today brought my Snap-on 1/2 inch torque wrench from work home for the lock nuts. First nut I tried to torque snapped the stub axle off in it when trying to go to 200 ft/lbs. how the heck? I decided to torque the other side with less ft/lbs. and stopped at 170. Anyone else know what happened, torque wrench malfunction? Bryce
  24. As Bonzi Lon stated, I just purchased a 72 bumper to replace my 73 bumper. When I get the 73 bumper off I will have to lay them together and see what all is different. Not sure when I will be getting to that, but I will update you after I get it off. Bryce
