  1. Please remove it. Completely ruins the sporty look of the Z. Bryce
  2. This is mostly usefull if you have a broken console or don't want a broken console where the choke lever usually attaches. I have 2 consoles with broken mounting holes, so I bought one. Bryce

Actually, you don't have to expand the hole if it is like my 73. I just carefully removed each pin from the connector, after noteing location of wires, and slipped the terminals through the hole separatly. On the other side of the bucket all you have to do is reinstall the terminals into the connector. Bryce

Hey Silvey, If you are talking about the Headlight Heavy Duty Harness 70-040, it just plugs into the original headlight bulb connector. I have this installed on my car, works great. Be sure and wrap it with black electrical tape before you install it, if you don't want that yellow wire loom to be so noticable. Bryce
  5. Hey Reed, Assuming the bumper is at least from a 240z, you will be able to tell if is 70-72 vs. 73 by the distance between the main mounting studs. A 73 has the studs 3-4 inches apart, where the 70-72 is maybe an inch. Good luck Bryce
  6. Hey Zguy, I have Energy suspension bushings, and tokico shocks and springs on my 73. I wouldn't think you would be disapointed with the poly bushings, unless you hoping it rides like a Cadillac afterwards. You might do some research on the tokico shocks and springs. I like mine alright for the price I paid, but I have seen some posts about people wishing they had gone another route. Good luck Bryce
  7. Hey pbarcher, I would definatley check another powder coating shop, if that's what you decide to do. $60 each is very high for steel drums. Steel is generally cheaper than alloy due to the prep time being easier. I paid $60 to have my valve cover powdercoated black, and it's aluminum. Bryce
  8. I have the "Road & Track" featuring that concept. If I remember right it was going to be a 4 cylinder? I might be mixing it up with some other car, I'll have to see if I can find that magazine and report back. Bryce

Welcome, and good looking Z. The front air dam is a nice change. Bryce
  10. Zed Head's process of removal is probably better, but.... I believe I worked it off with a prybar after double checking that I had all the bolts removed. Has to be a longer one to work. Bryce
  11. Hey ggunder, Sounds like you found a 5 speed in the shape I found mine. I would recomend you at least do the same to prep for installation, not as extensive or expensive as a rebuild. This way you will know it won't leak short after installation due to dried/hardened seals. Due to rust on the input shaft I cleaned it using emery cloth and spent some time to get it smooth. You don't have to get the pits completely gone, but you do want it as smooth as possible. Next I replaced the tail shaft seal, and removed the front cover inside the bell housing to replace the input shaft seal and front cover gasket. Lastly I put new gear oil in the trans, and changed it again after driving the car 50 miles just to make sure the water/debris would get out of there. Be sure and inspect your throwout bearing, clutch, and pilot bearing while you have it apart. Hope that helps, enjoy the 5 speed. It feels good having that extra gear. Bryce
  12. I also have mine plugged off, and never had a problem. Should only affect it in winter, if it affects it at all. I never drive mine in winter. Bryce
  13. Thanx for the infromation you posted 72 OJ and Mike B. I was always wanting to see a Z go through Barrett Jackson, this is just as good. Bryce
  14. I know you have many questions, but one thing I would say in case someone else doesn't. Be sure to use a factory Nissan head gasket, you don't want to run into issues down the road. Bryce

Congrats, At least someone got it and can enjoy it before it rotted away. Good luck, keep us posted on the progress. Bryce

Looks like the seatbelt reminder buzzer, mine is on the left right around where you found yours. I could be wrong though. Bryce
  17. Hello p_trice, Did it just start doing this, or did you just buy the car? If you just bought it there may be a very cold thermostat in it, or stuck open as you said, or no thermostat at all. Thermostat would be where I would start, as long as your radiator is full (assuming you checked that already). Cheap and easy to change out yourself. Bryce
  18. Not sure if it will work on that old of a car, but you might call the closest Nissan dealer. At the Mazda dealership I work at you can get the original key code numbers by the VIN number. Then you only have to pay for the key & cut fee. Good luck Bryce
  19. Thank you guys for all the help. Will let you all know what I end up doing. May have to do some SS line work also after seeing Mike W's write up. Bryce
  20. Wow, I'm surprised at how many replied. Thanks for all the info. I have 2 glass see through filters, with replaceable screens I was going to use. It sounds like I will need to be purchasing a fuel pressure regulator also? What type/brand is everyone running? I hear the cheaper chrome ones with no gauge are not the ones to get, is that right? Thanx again. Bryce
  21. Hello all, Got a mechanical fuel pump block off plate, and need to get a new electric fuel pump. Was wanting to know what everone is using that has done this upgrade? I was planning on finding a Carter GP-4070, as listed on L-Series performance mods and enhancements site. Just wanted to get everyone's opinon on what worked best for them? The car has DGV Weber's in case that matters. Thanks for any help, or suggestions. Bryce
  22. Hey Robin, Looks good, keep us up to date on the progress. Bryce
  23. Installed R/T Mount, Differential, and Mustache bar last night. Getting closer, next is to replace the wheel bearings while I have it apart. Bryce
  24. You might try leaving the spark plugs out, if you didn't. Is the engine and trans. still in the car? Bryce
  25. If you don't want to buy new rotors, I would suggest having them turned with an On Car Brake Lathe. That way it will rule out any wobble your hub may have too. Bryce
