Dogtown & Z-Boys – what a great documentary! Did you ever ride skate board? When did you start? Where did you ride? I spent my teen years in San Francisco & first rode on steel wheels. Bought my 1st “real” board w/ clay wheels & nicely finished wood in 1968– which I immediately slapped a STP sticker on. Did you ride? Do tell…
  2. I've been a pro photographer for about 30 years now. Youur Nikon D3000 is a great starter SLR camera. Face it, the “art” of photography is a combination of knowledge, skill, technology, talent and much more. As Lance Armstrong said, "It's not about the bike." Check out photo.net.
  3. Do tell about your extremely fast experience. Mine was in a IMSA GTP Jaguar XJR-5 (the 44 car). That duel turbo 12 hit 180+ on the strait at Roebling & left a mark on my Simpson helmet where it hit the roll bar. The tunnel vision suggested time travel. I had ridden in some fast cars before but never like this. What is the fasted car you have been in? I took this photo right before we got in.

I'm new and would like to see your V8 conversions. Please attach a photo & describe your ride. Mine has custom built 350 Chevy onboard.

What Torker said. The Z has a race history & is still raced SCCA. I did meet Paul Newman at Roebling Road years back at Brian Redman's annual event. His eyes were really that blue. Snapped this pic of him w/ his car in the foreground.

Then there is the Daytona Cobra... either way it's a work of art.

Car pretty much had the brutal power of the Al tweaked V8 but I added the beauty to the beast working w/ David Kuhn Restorations to mold my Z like I wanted. Molded in everything to make smooth while dreaming of a Ferrari 250GTO. Also refined the suspension so I could see over the dash w/ the squat of acceleration. Got to have Momo stuff inside on all my cars. Finest Italian leather wrapped and ergo sculpted steering wheels are a must. Driver's hands intimately on the car w/ every twitch at the finger tips. So I had to have a Recaro seat & 5-point Simpson belts to feel safe - attached to the Autopower Race roll bar I added. Keeping ahead of rust is a challenge & that's what i'm working on now. Getting ready for the 2011 ZCCA meet.

How do you think of your Z car? When looking at the exterior what stands out? What have you done in the design after what cars if any? I designed mine after a Ferrari 250GTO/275GTB. This was clear. Not that Datsun was not strong to begin with. Maybe a Jaguar XKE was there too. I like a long nose and compact driver's compartment. Or a mid engine & balance. What about you?

Hey from down south! Bought my 240z about 15 years ago & have been modifying since. What a beautifully designed body she has with fine lines echoing Ferrari and a beefy stance all its own. Look at the hood. Has a race history w/ Paul Newman driving and still works SCCA club events like always. My Z is one handsome SOB with the guts to take on pretty much any car at the light. Gotta love being a sleeper. Looking forward to getting to know you guys & seeing your Zs with both their stock & modified beauty & splendor.

Sounds like a sweet find. What car over 10 years old doen't need minor (or major) new stuff? Not to worry as this is a great investment. Lets see some pix already.
