  8. Baffling was what i was thinking of actually... do you know if foam filled tanks are Ok for road use??? I know my old man has a HORNET foam filled tank in his Sprts Sedan 510.

  10. I actually like it... Bit different I suppose. As long as the panels are all fibreglass and they havent hacked up a good Z shell... I do like it without the rear wing (In the pic above) Cheers
  11. I am also after info on this subject so if anyway wants to comment.... What info i have from Gav240Z is that it can be done using the e88 head (I am looking at getting the whole FI setup/PC/wiring from an R30 Skyline - I have an L24 with big valves, cam etc. Looking foward to anyone else's opinions... :classic:

come on chaps, it isnt that hard to get under the car and change the bulbs from the rear. I have H4's and didnt find it that hard to do.. a little work, but what else on the 240Z is any easier???
  13. I hate to hear it when dudes looking for a great car like the Z's get stuffed around and fall into the trap where you buy what comes up even though it isnt what you want only because there isnt a whole lot that comes up anyway! I am one of the few (I think) that had a huge bunch of luck when looking for a zed. I was at a large prominant car yard in Melbourne looking for an R33 Skyline cos I had cracked the sh*ts and decided a big bank loan was the only alternative to my 8 months of looking for a half decent Z (one that was ready to drive - Dont have a huge shed so massive rebuild was out of the question). I was actually sitting in a 92 Turbo 200SX when i peered through the rear vision mirror and there stuck in the rear corner of the yard was this awesome 73 240Z with 12 months reg, no rust for a quite yummy price! Drove it twice and bought it 3 days later. (you can see it in my gallery) It has a bit of rust coming thru the doors, and a few cracks here and there, but on the whole it was bloody good luck that got me the car. Just a good-luck story to keep the forum vibe 'up' and to give motivation to all you hopeful buyers! Keep it up, patience is everything. It will happen.... MP :classic:

STEVE To add to your database heres my stats - 10/73 240Z VIN - HS30103488 Factory Orange Looks like mine may be one of the last 240Z's to be shipped here! Can you tell me steve if anyone has an chassis numbers greater than mine? I am relatively un-educated with the chassis numbering system so i have no idea what the VIN number for 240Z's went to. Cheers boys

My 73' zed doesnt have the bumper mounted indicators just to add the the convo. But i am unsure whether I have the stock bumper. I only have the clear indicator/park lights under the bumper.

I just re-read my post - my english is bloody shocking! hmm.... If you are running carbs, and only one cylinder isnt firing, i think it is has a stuffed plug and might be running a bit rich which is wetting the plug (as you said) and thus not firing the plug. As i rambled on about, replace all the plugs and see how you go. Will work on my english..
  23. MicksZ replied to 260Zed's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
sounds like if they spark plug isnt firing and is wet hen u pull it out, the plug might be stuffed. How old are the plugs? Might be a good time to replace them ALL anyways now cos they arent too expensive. Sounds like plugs OR Leads to me...

SORRY - bonnet not dash - dash would look good though! I think the carbon bonnet is all for asthetics, weight saving is very marginal, and if u were wanting to save weight seriously you would get a fibreglass boinnet for cost reasons.

The one advantage is they look sick as!!! I reckon my orange zed with a carbon fibre dash would be awesome!!!
