Its not staying the factory color. It is being changed to the gtr metallic grey color. I wish I would have known what the factory color looked like new because I might have gone back to it

Once I had it stripped I had it completely sand/soda blasted to remove all the old paint and rust to see exactly what I was dealing with and of course found more rust spots than I thought I had. Once the it was clean I shot it with an epoxy primer and sent it to the body shop. While it has been at the shop I have been keeping myself busy rebuilding the wire harness from scratch updating the fuse box and adding/removing wires as needed

So it has been a few years since I have posted anything on this site because I was a few states away from my car. In those 2 years or so all I was able to do was research and collect a sizable amount of parts. Within the last few months I have moved closer to my car and now have the ability to work on it a little at a time. So as an update here is what I have been able to do over the last few months. I move the z into the garage and over a few days stripped it down to a bare shell.

Thanks. I lucked up and the car had been sitting under a shed since 94 so the 2 rust spots are minor and everything is original

hello everyone ive been a member of the site for about a year now but never properly introduced myself. last year before i entered basic training i bought my 260z. after basic i began slowly buying the parts to bring her back to new condition, with a few upgrades of course, and make her mine.

yeah it does have factory ac and that explains why my dad didnt know what it was either and yall are both right the 240 wont fit but the 280 will

i recently bought my first z its a 260 and the first time i seen it i fell in love with it its almost all factory. someone swaped a 280 5spd into it ans it has an ansa dual tip muffler. i have been reading around about the cars and have learned much thanks to this web site but i do have 2 questions 1 what is the white jug looking thing mounted on the right hand wheel well behinde the inspection light 2 will 240z door panels fit on the 260
