  1. I just checked the trading post and Early 240Z, 5 speed manual, must sell to buy sensible family car (Ouch! That hurts), car number 160, with matching motor, runs great, needs little TLC to bring back to top condition, phone for web page address, price negotiable -$4500 Carrara 5594 5151 or (0423) 043 444 so it appears it may be still for sale, I said appears!!!!!!! I wish someone could tell us the data plate engine number. cheers Steve:classic:
  2. Walkingpig, the information I am after is the information from the manufacturers data plate " HS30-XXXXXX & L24 XXXXXX & from the ADR Compliance plate if fitted 3/71 or 9/73 to place the time of arrival. To the corrosion problems with the existing shell, it sounds severe in some area's, the site's sound familiar as places where the shell does fail, I am sure that repair schemes are available for most of what you have identified. I think your pictures should draw some good comments. I had some major repairs completed on my shell on both sides and the centre of the rear, last year in North Ipswich, the company specialised in rare and unique body repair. cheers Steve :classic:
  3. Walkingpig, Sorry, I dont have a shell for you, how bad is yours can you take some pictures and post them, it may not be as bad as you think. Somebody may have a repair scheme or suggest someone cappable of doing the repair for you. I wish you luck finding the shell. as a side issue could you tell me the production detail from you existing Zed I would like to know your body number and original data plate engine number and maybe the compliance plate date so I can put it in the Zed Register. Cheers Steve:classic:

All of the L series headers should be the dual flange type, just the hole size(diameter) and secondary/ dual header pipe size will vary. cheers Steve:classic:
  5. whats the details
  6. sjcurtis replied to Gee's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
I can not answer the question from memory, they are very similar , for a quick confirmation, the diffrence will be at the header pipe Flange. The best method is to ask your local exhaust shop which gasket fits the header pipe flange his listing will tell you the cross reference between models. There are definate diffrences in the flange studs depending on the age of the item in hand, newer has the heavier size studs. hope this helps Steve:classic:
  7. Hey Guys, I am to far away. If any one does get a look, can someone post the chassis number and original L24 serial from the data plate. This Zed looks like the real deal, a real bargin for a person waiting a real classic to come along, especialy if you live close to the seller even maybe the same town. Cheers Steve :classic:
  8. Hi Alan, mammoth task, I am focusing on the Export HS30, but I believe for a better picture inclusion of RS30 and GRS30 Export models is also appropriate. Hopefully people will come forward with the information. To the PS30-SB replica sorry, I will put its detail in for reference information to support time lines separately. As for the HS30 all Tags in hand I can enter these in red indicating condition of, and enter all the detail to the columns to giving us a more substantial picture of the production. To that Iow vin tag would love to add it in under the in red condition, is the production L24 serial number achievable. To any club information from the registers YES PLEASE I will willingly input all of this type of information. I will observe the consideration of no ownership or suburb garaging detail. If you need email address for any information I will supply as required. Also for any private non club friends and associates who are willing I will also put there information in. Thanks for the help there and good luck. To the FULVIA I now the model well, My father used a 69 2 door 1300 5 speed dark green paint tan interior as a company car( LANCIA production plant manager SA) in the early 70s. Did about 12 hrs Jo'burg to Cape Town winter of 1971( great run). With the dating aspect I will have good cross reference to the AUS fleet to provide trend and I will key up any sale / delivery in the prod date area of the page against UK delivery. hopefully we will get some replies from Hong Kong Singapore and maybe South Africa to give more information. Cheers Steve:classic:
  9. NickF, Thanks I have put the info in on both the body and the engine, in the register as a 71, second month compliance and a late 1970 manufacture. In this catigory I have logged in four Zeds with 70 manufacture and 71 delivery, for thirteen total against 1971. Cheers Steve :classic:

Hey halz, is that HS30-0038 a reality or is he dreaming with his ambition. Also did you see any other info maybe the data plate (engine number), Did you see the data details for the 77 260Z. Has anyone seen the 240Z in the auto trader. Cuong Nguyen, any chance of the production data plate & compliance plate details from your 260Z. for the register im working on. Cheers All Steve:classic:
  12. When setting up the sway bars, The logic is maintain the balance, the front bar on the Zed should always be heavier than the rear. I think you will have no problems with a matched set of heavier rate bars. By the sound of the suspension you have fitted the body roll should be right down anyway. With the Strut Tower Braces they are now very common and not always correctly designed, so I would suggest looking at other Zeds in your area to get a good idea of what works. Good luck Cheers Steve:classic:
  13. Ihad a similar dead cut problem a few yrars ago. i put mine into the shop and spen heaps. My problem was dead cut in the ignition (ic pack on the outside of the distributor had a crack in the back between it and the body, not visible. When my engine got to operating temp in the 100 plus temp of the tropics the crack would open and the ignition would earth out. It happened to me hope this saves you bucks. With the backfiring and rough runner smoothing off with rpm increase sounds like another sticky AFM metering flap, give it a bath with Boeshield or some other spray lube. good luck Steve :classic:
  14. Thanks to That Ozzy Guy, I have put the engine number in. Ah those teething problems, they will dissapeer, good luck. Thanks to LEE240ZPERTH, I have put it all in, including undergoing full rest information. Good luck, can't wait for the pictures. Thanks again to all who have come forward with the info Any export RHD Zed to 78/79. Please spread the word, join in if you are still waiting. Cheers Steve:classic:
  15. 16. sjcurtis replied to Sean Dezart's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Hi Sean Dezart, I find this thread interesting from th point of view that the authorities marked the production plates with the X in two places. Also it was a good responce from HS30H about fraud seems to be a pretty good answer. My question and I guess any one who knows can step on in, Did Nissan ship from the factory HLS30 export EU version for to France and if so what kind of numbers actually got there. cheers Steve:classic:
  17. sjcurtis replied to 240znz's post in a topic in Help Me !!
240ZNZ congratulations, I wish I had been there to take a photo for you of the look on your face when you stepped out of your Zed. You know the best part of it is we all Know that exact feeling. And the smile of success when you realised that Zed is ultimate driving pleasure. fantastic responce I guess you have the Zed bug. When you post your next group of pics, can you please post original engine serial number detail and if possible pic of data plate. Cheers Steve:classic:
  18. This is getting good. Thanks to Zedrally, Thanks to That Ozzy Guy, To Gav240Z, dont make to much of it. what I was talking about is the plate the government attched for rego in AUS the adr compliance plate. I will try to attach one to show you. maybe you never had one. could be a private import. To That Ozzy Guy, Any chance of the L24 serial from the data plate in the new Zed. Have you done a dyno run yet. To ZedRally, Got the info, and I will put the extra page in for GRS 30 and capture what I can. Is there any compliance plate month/ year data same as Gav240Z for your fine steeds. Thanks again all Steve :classic: :classic:
  19. Thanks Gav240Z, From the info your Zed is an early 72. Do you Know the ADR cert date is it 2/72 or maybe 3/72. cheers Steve:classic:
  20. Thanks Trex, I have put your data in. The list for 73 is looking good we should get some great info for the late 73 production at this rate I just hope others supply the data plate engine number as well as it shows the production trends. If it is possible could you ask for this information from other Zed owners in your area of Malaysia. Thanks again Trex Cheers Steve :classic:
  21. Z Kid , thanks for the info. I have loaded it all in. If you notice our Zeds are close in production. I used my AVTAR earlier in the thread to show the set up and it is a 6/73 compliance plate, look at yours, this proves that some parts actually stopped Zeds rolling out in line sequence. This list is starting to go, waiting for more info. Any one Cheers Steve :classic:
  22. Z Kid, if the enthusiast could get hold of it and put it back to rego with work, it is recoverable. With a full set of tags that would register it is a definite goer because of improved re-birthing techniques. As much info as you can and I will put it in if it is reasonable. Cheers Steve:classic:
  23. TELL ME YOURS I WANT TO KNOW your 240Z HS30 production details. I am asking for your assistance. I would like to know the details of your Z, If you have an export model RH drive HS30 or you know someone who does let me know as I want the production details to build a register. My intention is to capture as much information as possible as quick as possible To achieve this goal I need all of your help. I will not include any owner or suburb detail just nearest city state and country that you reside. My apologies to the majority of the site members for not being able to concentrate on the HLS30 as well, but I am sure that from the coverage already on .com you are all well covered. To the information I am after. I am after your production serial number, the data plate engine number the date of production, certification or first registration of your HS30 or a fair guess. so it will look like HS30-102660 L24173261 06/73 M Australia NSW SYD date 17/07/03. One variable is M for manufacture C for certification (ADR) R for first registration. At this stage I am not sure how this will go so please either reply to the thread or PM me the details. If you need my email address that can also be provided on request. If you are a member of other clubs please pass on the information, so that other can, also help HS30 members update, please pass on this information or even better pass thier information back, or provide me with a contact to chase. Thanks for your input Steve.:classic:
  24. sjcurtis replied to drunkenmaster's post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
drunkenmaster, I am pretty sure your pipes will be identical in size. I was not that lucky, I went OEM 280ZX aspirated format as per mid 82 manufacture even down to the fuel pump & electrics (relays). I had to install the second pipe. I have never been short of fuel at the business end, but I do not put out big HP either ( ask any HONDA driver Ha). For high horsepower application you will have to talk to the guys doing turbo or RB or race.
  25. halz, I have only just started catching info in the last two days. I intend to try and catch as much of the export HS30 world as I can. I guess if you or any one wish to share info either PM me or reply post HS30 xxxxxx L24 xxxxxxx year month country state city. for the month it can be delivery /registration / or compliance (6 R) I will draft something and post it up here. I have trouble bringing up the WA site. When or if I can get enough info I will try to publish. My reason is to find out how many HS30 Zeds are left. Cheers Steve:classic:
