Hello Ken Are you please able to elaborate some more on what you are referring to when you mention bump stops on the suspension? Thanks Joseph

Interesting that it has no rear hatch window defroster/associated blanking plate in centre console insert and also rubber matting behind the seats on the floor in front of the tool boxes. I wonder is it was supplied from the factory with the rubber mat in the rear hatch area rather than the carpet. Interesting... Joseph
  3. Hello Sacrilege to some but I now have no choice but to replace the heater hoses in my car with the later style, rubber skinned replacements as currently are available from Nissan. I want to do the whole lot for the sake of uniformity. I am having trouble finding the part number of the heater transition hose in the replacement rubber skinned type. I have seen these hoses on ebay in the past, but not recently. I have a part number of 14054-E3001 Hose - Pipe to Connector. I ordered this from Nissan here in Australia and was supplied with the early style braided type of hose. The later style, rubber skinned hoses seem to have a letter prefix to the original Nissan part number, identifying them as being remade. 14054-E3001 is still showing as the correct/valid number for this hose in the USA Nissan parts database. If anyone has purchased this heater transition hose recently and has been supplied with the later style, rubber skinned hose it would greatly be appreciated if you could please let me know the Nissan part number which it was supplied as. Thanks Joseph
  4. As far as I know these stampings have nothing to do with model/type and are to do with the casting/manufacturing process in the factory. Just work out the ratio yourself, turn the tire/wheel 10 times and have someone count the number of turns the driveshaft does. Divide and you have it. Do this a few times to compare. Also works with a tranny. Hope this helps. Joseph

    Nissan dealership: P/N - 16194-E8810 Spring-Throttle x 2. Hope this helps. Joseph
  6. If you want to try your local Nissan dealership, here is the part numbers of the fender mounted bullet type mirrors: 96301-E4100 RH 96302-E4100 LH Please let us know what happens with your query. If they tell you they are NLA from Nissan in Australia, ask the parts counter guy to query the part number with Japan. Joseph

Yes, I believe that I have a new set of these which I purchased from ebay mid last year here in Australia. Not sure what the date on manufacture is, but they are definately older stock. Havent fitted them yet. Joseph
  8. Carl/All Interesting that this publication that you reference, Old Cars Price Guide by Kruse, mentions restored cars in the #1 class. You and may others (me included) have said in the past that an original car should be valued higher over a fully restored car of equal condition. Maybe there is some kind of split in the #1 class; ie #1 original car/#1 restored car. Interesting. Joseph

The brackets arent marked L and R. The correct mounting position is with the short side to the top, meaning that when they are mounted to the car the bolts are located closer to the top edge of the bracket rather than the lower edge of the bracket. Hope this helps. Joseph

Woops, my bad. If it is a 10/71 car it would have had the later style console. Sorry Joseph

Hello Im looking for the centre console plastic insert plate which sits around the choke/hand throttle knobs. Must have the blanking plate for the parking light switch installed. Please advise if you have this available and if you are willing to post overseas to Australia. Thanks Joseph

Hello TRS Many thanks for the reply/information. So far this ties in with my "mirror fitment to Australian RHD cars" theory. Joseph

As far as I know, the one on the inside of this photo with the wire spring wrapped around the end which "plugs" into the transmission is correct and should be original for your 240-Z.

Is someone able to post a picture of what the original 240-Z door seals look like; the ones which are glued down to the keeper strip. If someone had some off the door it would be good to see the shape of the section used for both the rubber and the keeper strip. If anyone can help out it would be appreciated. Thanks Joseph

trs Mind if I ask you what year model this white car is and if the single chrome door mounted mirror is standard fitment? Thanks Joseph

  20. Hello Im not sure if this ad totally blows my theory out of the water. I borrowed it from an ebay auction held here in Australia last week. Although the ad was listed as appearing in a newspaper dated 1972, the car does appear to be an early body style, ie 240z rear pillar badge, it is RHD, and look at the mirror fitment. Whether this is just a drawing or not Im not clear on, but it had to be drawn from something. Regards Joseph
  21. Hello Will Interesting project. Ive been told that All-Z Parts here in Australia (New South Wales) has been working on a remake of the drivers side chrome door mirror as it is now NLA from Nissan. Ive heard he has made a few prototypes, of which have been sold and fitted to cars. The "flag" appears a different metal on them Im told. If you are interested his email address is allzparts@aol.com , contacts name is Warren. Had my thinking cap on; here are some part numbers as posted in another place by Ben Suckling. Quote: ASSY-BACK MIRROR DOOR OUTSIDE RH (FOR AUSTR) 96302-E8800 ASSY-BACK MIRROR DOOR OUTSIDE RH (EXC FRANCE) 96301-E4100 ASSY-BACK MIRROR DOOR OUTSIDE LH (EXC FRANCE) 96302-E4100 I've also got the part numbers for the 'optional' fender mirrors: ASSY-BACK MIRROR OUT SIDE RH (BLACK) 96301-E4100 ASSY-BACK MIRROR OUT SIDE RH 96301-N3400 ASSY-BACK MIRROR OUT SIDE LH (BLACK) 96302-E4100 ASSY-BACK MIRROR OUT SIDE LH 96302-N3400 End Quote. The optional fender mirrors as referred to above with the black description I am assuming are the Jap spec bullet type. Joseph
  22. HLS Is the mirror as seen on the left hand side of your pic when viewed on the screen for the drivers side on a RHD car? Did this have the same P/N as the LHS ?? Joseph
  23. I also believe that the second last car you posted a pic of is a UK spec car, look at the front/rear spoliers and the license plate. This looks like the "chunky" chrome mirror which Ben refers to in his post above rather than the standard type chrome mirror as seen on the USA spec cars. Joseph
  24. OK, looks like this is taking off nicely. Lachlan, FYI, the picture of the second car which you posted is infact the car I refer to in my text, ie HS30-0004 which was the first car to reach this country. It is a early 70 model and it was the car used by motoring scribes at the time to complete the roadtests in. Note it retained its plates KNL-127 right through its life, Vic plates. Notice the plates on the first car you posted, they also begin with a K and are Vic plates. I assume by this that this is also a very early car, probably also with a very low (sub 100 assumed) vin #. Joseph
