I haven't owned a 240Z for any length of time but with the 280Z....the worst design award has to be the damned HVAC system. The magnetic solenoids placed on the passenger strut tower and then the ignorant routing of all of those vacuum lines coupled with the infitely more durable heater cables. What a mess. I am about two minutes away from removing all of that sh** and replacing it with a vintage air system. If you are lucky you own a non-factory A/C car without all of those assinine vacuum lines and vacuum pods under the dash.

That is wonderful! I am smitten by TML-280S if you remember that car. It is also a maroon 260Z and thought to be registered in 1979 as well. It was on ebay last year and I never got a repsonse from the seller as to its disposition. If I get a chance to visit Great Britiain again I must be sure to give you a call. -

A shot of the cowl after sanding and cleaning. A second cleaning should finish this off before applying the POR-15. The vacuum found lots of debris under this cowl. -

The Motorsport springs are still looking good after seven plus years! -
I had rpeviously primed this area after sanding about 4 years ago. This time it will last much longer. This is a good chance to modify the rubber drain so that the water does not accumulate on the ledge below. -
Just before sanding.....notice the unpainted surfaces. Nissan sprayed just a thin film of primer here. A good opportunity to apply POR-15. -
