Cams, Schnyder
Thanks, That’s the information I needed. I set them at .10 & .12 hot and what a difference. After every thing seated, about 1,500 miles on new engine the valves needed to be adjusted. It made a difference. Sadly it’s about time to put it away for the winter. Thanks

Cams, Schnyder
Does anyone have information on the Schnyder performance cams. It a 17033 performance cam from MSA. Cant find the paper work that went with it and im trying to adjust the valves. Looking for the hot or cold setting. Stock is .10 for intake and .12 for exhaust. Not sure if its the same as the stock settings. Anyone!

Access to clock
I removed the glove box when I changed my clock. You will need to remove the air vent hose first and the the glove box will come out a little easier. If you take your time it will come out in one piece. It can be done!

Zcar
I saw a special on the history channel this morning about Z cars. It stated that the Z car gave Nissan its big boost in the sports car division, and today its considered to be a classic and one of the most desirable and sought after cars, along with the Jag and the Porch. NOT BAD, ah!

Door seals
I called MSA and asked for both left and right door seals for a 71 240Z to include the clips. They installed easily and fit perfictly.

Door seals
I had the exact same problem. I ended up going to MSA to get the seal. The metal strip was included. Others have said it takes awhile for the rubber to soften, not sure? Good luck.

Wanted: 240z in the US
The co. is Auto Driveaway, 1800-562-1558 Allston Mass/Waltham. They are fully insured and the only co. I called that sent me the information about them and the form needed to get the car ready to go. All other I talked to barely gave me the time of day.

Carb Question's
Carl, Good info, thanks. I picked up the carb video from ZTheropy. Found that useful as well and having the tools to adjust the idle and air flow helps.

I ended up doing what you suggested by getting a K&N filter for the stock housing. Its a little expensive but im told its a life time filter. They show you how to clean it for re-use. I like this setup better then modifting what I have. Thanks for the input. Cheers

colour ideas photoshopped
I just finished painting my 71Z. Used original color 903 blue, not so bad. When I had the windows out the color was identical.

Carbs
Well I got my color-tue and tried it out. My carbs were way out of adjustmet according to the color tune. I started with cylinder # 2 and 5 (at 800 rpms idle)and got it to a bunsen blue but it hesitated a little when I drove it. I tryed it again but increased the idle to 1000 and then adjusted it again and it made a big differance. Does this sound correct? After all that I checked the idel using the syncrometer and did a final adjustment. Learning how to maintain your of car using the right tools rather then relying on some one else is alot of fun. To change the subject a little, if I wanted to replace the stock air cleaner with the K&N or Ramflo, what do you do with the two hoses to the carbs as well the one to the valve cover and engine block ect? No sure I want to go this route but it may it seems as if it would improve the air flow. Any advice would be appreciated.

has anyone had problems fitting new door rubber seals on their 240z's?
I bought a weather strip kit from B.V and all of the door strips were too big. I talked to a guy from Precision Replacements and was told they use re-manufactured parts. He told me that a 78-weather strip would fit better or call MSA. MSA had the strips with the metal bands attached, the ones from B.V I had to re-use the old bands. The ones from MSA cost a little more but fit like a glove.

Carbs
Any of you who have used a color tune, how does it work? Can you adjust both carbs from one plug or do you need to use all six? Is it worth buying one or do without? I got the video from Ztheropy and it was very helpful. The syncrmeter was fun to use and it worked out well. Thanks for the feed back in advance.

Carbs
I got the video and it was good, it really helps. I got the synchrotester and was able to adjust the carbs, not too difficult, it actually runs good. I just got the car painted, original blue for the 71's, #TB903. Ill post it once all the pieces are back on and the windows are in. Thanks for all the help.

Carbs
I found a guy, next town under/over who restores old cars. He’s familiar with the dual carb process and has the equipment as well. He is going to show me how to do it the first time so I’ll take good notes but I like the idea of this video. If you own a Z you should have the tools and documents to maintain it. I will get the video and start looking for the gages/tools to adjust the carbs. Thanks for the feedback. If you know where I can get these gages, let me know. Thanks again, Ken
