I thought about what you said so I decided to talked to the guy who rebuilt my engine. He has a ballancing tool and is familiar with dual carbs. He new what was needed when I told him how it was running. He wasn't the one who took the engine out or put it back in, he only rebuilds but offered to set the timing and adjust the carbs for me at no additional charge. He use to own a Z long ago so I think he enjoyed working on mine. Thanks for the help

Speaking as a parent, my son is taking drivers Ed as we speak and he THINKS he’s going drive my Z when he gets his license. Well maybe after a few or several years I'll consider it. Regardless of what car you chose as your first, keep your nose clean and drive carefully. If you keep a good driving record your rates will come down a lot faster. And it’s true, some of them have small back seats and some have none so you’re limited as to how far you can impress the chicks. Have fun with your Z

MSA has them for $96 as well. Both kits seem to be complete.

biker, I was going to have them chromed but ran out of time. Wanted to get the engine back in and running. Sounds like a summer project to me.

The oil cap came from ebay, it went well with the blue engine and wires. Spent this winter polishing anything that would buff up to a shine, what else is there to do when its 8 above and snowing.

I picked up a heavy duty bench grinder and a buffing pad. You can get the buffing pads and polishing sticks at any home stores or wood working shops. It takes a little time but works great.
  12. real good. Sunday we were open to the public. People come and visit the operation and see how syrup is made. We have ice cream with syrup available for all visitors. Fun time
  13. Another picture of making maple syrup.:classic:
  14. The cam kits from MSA is cheaper then buying it piece by piece, about 150 better. They seem to know what’s what since every thing fit properly.

Post some pics, want to see it.
  16. I was tapping trees one early spring and watching the sap flow into buckets, which is how I came up with sapruns. Living in Maine for the last 20 years and hearing about maple syrup being produced here I became fascinated with the fact that you can make a hole in a maple tree and boil the sap down to produce this addicting sweet stuff. I've been producing maple syrup for the last 16 years.
  17. I agree with 240Z, these things can’t be rushed. I'm having my engine re-done so I'm very eager to get it back into the car. I've had some setbacks so my patents have been tasked. I'll take my coffee and site in the car that’s parked in the garage and look out at all that white stuff and I know my day is coming soon. Hang in there.

Hello all, I’m just about done rebuilding my 240Z, L24 engine. I’ve managed to keep most of the parts stock with the exception of the cam and pistons, they are the next size up from stock. Would it be better to run the car with 2-2.5 in. hearers or keep it stock? Would like your thoughts on this.
