73 240 RE-Convert
Well Z World I bought a Z with the 4bbl set up. Decided to get a Rebello motor but I can not run a 4bbl with a Rebello motor, right? So I was wondering if anyone on here has any good Z car gurus that can convert me back to those bell tops. I am not having any luck finding a write up on it.

Harrington Group Bumpers (project in process) 1973 240z bumper swap
Still in progress, I have just sanded and primed 72 rear bumper mounts. Need to paint then install to finish the job. School/work/and the lovely gf just eat the clock every day, it seems. New z projects have grown anyways, rebello 3.0L, 5 speed, flywheel, clutch, headers, exhaust and the debate over the arizona manifold and carbs are up for debate.

Harrington Group Bumpers (project in process) 1973 240z bumper swap
Dean, regarding the rear bumper and if I am filling the holes left by the shock struts in the rear? My 73 does not have any rear shock struts that need to be filled no GOV. mandate for safer bumpers in the tail in the 73z yet, I suppose.

Harrington Group Bumpers (project in process) 1973 240z bumper swap
I just work slow, and have not worked my way to the back of the car yet. I am going to buy some new bolts to mount the front bumper today before work. From the information I have gathered it seems that the mounting brackets have to be from any z car older then the 73 240zs. So a 71 would woork etc. I dont think, I am going to fill in any holes left by the old brackets just in case I want to go back. But I will let you know when I make it to the Zs tail.

Harrington Group Bumpers (project in process) 1973 240z bumper swap
http://www.groupharrington.com/en/part/36/datsun-240z-and-260z-bumpers.html I was looking for the older style bumpers and and just said what the heck and purchased the pricey stainless steel bumpers. I found a local Z car guru that had the correct mounting brackets, and now it is time to install. I am in the procedure of installing just need the time. I sanded most of the rust of the old/new bumper mounts used some OSPHO (an acid) just for kicks on the remaining rust. Removed the old front bumper, bumper mounts, and the grill. Currently priming and painting the old/new mounts Here are some pictures

Electrical based question New MSD 2 Coil (novice)
Found out the issue i think ...... battery is just being drained really fast. Attempted to start the car this morning and nothing no click just dead. Charged the battery and walla car started up the dash lights, gauges and everything working. YAAAA then about 8 minutes later no gauges working, and 30 seconds later the z just stops moving. Obviously the alternator is not charging the battery, right?

Electrical based question New MSD 2 Coil (novice)
My 73 240 was having trouble starting so I purchased an MSD coil 2 for the Z car and the car fires right up. Then moments later the gauges did not work and all my exterior lights stopped working and here I am scratching my head. Everything worked before MSD 2 coil accpet the car did not start, the speedo and rpm gauges still work but just the electrical related stuff seems to have just fried. I did not see any blown fuses either What do you think the cause is? What is the first step to making it all work again?

Tough to get it in gear and grinds when attempting to put it in reverse (HELP)
The car has some issues like a gas leak, that I thought the mechanic fixed. But in order to get the car back up to the guy to see if he did not tighten the hoses. I need to fix this new problem that just pop up out of nowhere. So I was going to drive it to work today and I could not put the car in reverse. However, I think it has been leeking some clutch fluid for about a week or so. I noticed some on the floor of the car the other day but did not think twice about it. Now I cant get the Z to go anywhere. So I in frustration I just purchased ............... Clutch master cylinder slave cylinder clutch hose clutch throwout bearing Waiting for shipping, but in the meantime is there anything I could try.

New Washington Owner 73 240 decent deal at $4,500
Ya, SU's or pay the price for triples and a new cam and all the goodies that come with that setup. The hood is from a 280z the guy I bought it from put the 280 hood on instead. My dad says I need the 240 hood, but I like the louvers. I think that it needs to be all one color though and with the spotty paint it will get done just not a mandatory fix like the carbs. The z is coming home from the shop soon, and I just bought some of those expensive bumpers from the Harrington group too.

New Washington Owner 73 240 decent deal at $4,500
The bad Paint/body needed more prep work before the guy sprayed it. A couple cracks on interior pieces A 4BBL is on it with an Arizona manifold not sure if I am sold The good The body is straight but needs someone to love it somemore. Interior is all there and the dash is pretty solid The wants I want this thing to look beutiful so I need to have body work done. I want a little more power but with a stock engine for the most part that will be some $$
