I wish i had the answer to your question but ........ I think the best place to get it is at hybridz.org many members there have done almost any kind of engine swap and will have the info you need.

How far do you want to go? A cheap tune up with your L24 and carbs will be lots of FUN! BUT if you want serious speed the L28et is the way to go. I was gonna use that setup on my 240z(weber DGV, ect.) till i saved enough money for a turbo(L28et engine out of 280zx) swap. I liked it cause you could get alot of HP and you could keep your existing tranny and motor mounts. You could try to find one in a junk yard or find a cheap used car with one running in it(probably best) and probably find an engine for under 1500. What I plan to do with the Z i have left is Buy a built up and performance rebuilt engine from top end performance ($$$ :sleepy: ) and drop it in keeping my 78 5-sp & R200. I was planning on doing this later down the road with my 240z and in the meantime enjoying the performance I already had.
  5. I took a look at mine since the blown originals are still in there. I think they are 4" speakers cause they are really small. I'm sure you could fit a five inch speaker though cause the frame around the speaker is pretty big.

  12. If you are using my mallory dist. then it has a mechanical advance and doesn't need a vacuum line connected to it!!!
  13. Ahhhhh............so this is a case of id plates switched. And I was wondering why it had no hatch vents. My 73 was 153000 somthing so they made that many?!! Or did they change the numbering system? I know you sure would know about this matter too. And I thought I actually found a real early Z:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Well now I know. I guess watch out for a 72 with 70 ID tags coming from corpus christi, tx!!

  15. Does it make a sound like air leaking or somthing? You could need a new brake booster. MY 280z had the brake pedal adjustment nut loose and when i pressed them they would go too low but when i saw the brake lights stay on i knew it was the adjustment and I tightened it.

  17. I found a 70 240z at a shop on the way home from school. The owner said that some one left it there years ago running to replace the struts and never came back for it. Maybe I will go back and visit and take some pics. Some of the things i noticed were that the air cleaner was gone and there were no vents on the rear hatch.. As for the rust issue I'll just have to pull up carpet and post the pics. Maybe he will let it go for 200 or so. I don't have the money but if there is hardly any rust i know maybe someone else could save this early Z car.

A good looking AWD 240z that could be called riced out...But since it's mods are legitimate i think not. Outstanding Z, I had to post it.

COMPLETE INSANITY!!! Could you imagine the hood scoop for that? It'll probably provide shelter for a family of four!! While it is fun to see this stuff, I am happy to see it on other peoples cars not mine. But it looks great.

I found this pic on the web I wonder if it is just a bad body kit of if it is a 240sx with a z front end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are the lower valences inter changeable on the 240 &280z? I wonder if you could put a 240z lower valence on a 280z. I have seen a 240z with a 280z lower valence on this site somewhere.

How about a 240z with an L28et with a 944 turbo in a autocross? Wouldn't a spiced up zx turbo engine make the 240z a contender to some of these cars. Does he mean a 240z with an N/A L24 or L28?

You can also see for your self on the ID plate on the drivers side door jam. My 73 said on the door jam ~2700 lbs.
