  1. The front bumper is all bent up but you cannot tell from the pics. There is some rust on the car. The interior is in good shape. The car runs very strong. The car could use a paint job but from the distance you can't tell. I want to keep it , but i'll let it go for a firm $3500. I want to buy an MSA body kit put on fiberglass bumpers, and repaint it. Then i wanted to do a performance rebuild and put triple weber carbs from Top end performance.(zcarperformance.com) This car is very restorable and is a blast to drive. I'm only about 3-4 hrs. away from austin and the car will have no problem driving over there. I just got a new digital camera and can take more pics of the car now. If you want to know maybe i can take pictures of the rust i do know about, close ups of certain parts that i feel you may want to know about . If you decided you think you might want the car then i will make sure that I send you pics( via e-mail) that will let you see the condition of the car. The pics i have posted now are at http://www.geocities.com/fstr240z/homepage.html my e-mail address is fstr240z@excite.com thanx, Ernie H.

I feel that rotary belongs at home in it's Rx-7 engine bay. I remember hearing about someone putting the 1.3 rotary in their 280zx. I Don't know if it was true or if they actually did this, i never saw it. If i any car needs that rotary it's a mazda miata. The car has other choices though as the 4 banger can be modified to make comparable HP, or if you got $$$$$. I hear a monster miata package that will give you a Ford 5.0 is available. As for me I'd rather Keep on ZZZZing with L motors in both my Zs. Later, Ernie H. PS -I've also heard of someone putting a Supra TT I-6 in their early Z. Another one of those things i can't say for sure is true but someone or other did e-mail me about it.

My 78 280z has a weird suspension problem(I think it's a suspension problem) The car drives great on a smooth road, but when the car hits a good series of bumps it makes a noise that i belive is coming from the rear passanger side. It kinda sounds like a flat tire. Accompanied by this noise some times is the rear pulls right. It feels like the tire wants to come off. This even happens at speeds between 15-30mph. Now the bumps i'm referring to are not that bad as my 240z easily goes over them at 20-25mph. I put on new tires and the car has been sitting almost a year since it's been driven. Help!! Thanx, Ernie H. fstr240z@excite.com 73 240z(my babe) 78 280z(my soon to be daily driver)

I could not turn the adjustment when my rear brakes locked up in my 73'. So i had to hammer the drum out( annoying job) and i couldn't hit it too hard so as to not damage the drum. Once i finally got the drum off i had to replace the rear wheel cylinders. They usaually run about $75 each a high price.(not the usual american brand price of like $20). Even though the driver side wheel was the only one locked up I thought it a good idea to replace both cylinders.
  6. After seeing that I had 2 Z's now, and that I can smoke his camaro in both of them my friend is now catching Z fever. He wants a fixer upper not costing more than $1200. We are both from corpus christi, tx and you can email me at fstr240z@excite.com Ernie Hiracheta 73 240z 78 280z
  7. I would like to buy a 280z or 280zx in good running condtion with a 900-$1200 price tag. Some rust is ok. I would like to buy it from somone in texas. I live in corpus christi tx . i am not afraid of a road trip, just as long as i don't have to drive to dallas. I will though if i like the car enough.

I'm running Nology capacitive wires on my Z. They work great. The only thing that is bad about them is they cost close to $300.
  9. Is the car still for sale. If so let me know at fstr240z@yahoo.com. If it is for sale could you also explain the carbs to me. Are they dual carbs or triiple.

The skyline doesn't look as good as the 350z, but it may be faster. I wish the 350z had the 3.0L I-6. Whoever read that sport compact car magazine needs to look thier info from a real source. Hey i read it too but thought somthing was fishy then they add some of "thier" tunig and make it even worse. Sometimes i wonder if those euro(hi-perf I-4 lovers) guys hate Zs i know they give me funny looks in my 240z. Motortrend tested the 287hp (not 244) at 5.4sec to 60mph(not 5.8) and 13.9 in the 1/4 mile(not much diffrence there.) As for me i'll be enjoying a 350Z.
