  1. Well i give it credit for its historical value I guess.
  2. http://www.ciacars.com/auto/detail.php?cat=9&de=82 At least it is a ZX but it still hurts. Put this in the webster ditionary as "overkill".

Stop Feeling like super man and be superman and buy a 2 seater!!!!! J/K Really you'll find a better Z. The less rust the better and cheaper to restore. Just replacing floorpans some people say it cost $1000!! Rust is what seperates a parts car from a restoration canidate.
  6. I may be wrong but could the carbs need to be re-synced? I know they were running correctly in my car, but they were tuned for my car.(if that statement even applies, i don't know if carbs have to be tuned different for different engines of the same type.) You can try movining the mixture screw on the side of the carbs. Just Remember how much you turned it so if it gets worse you can put it back. I know MSA sell synch tools for them also. Just my guess at the prob.
  7. Great Find!!! An early 71 is the Z i feel is the ideal Z IMO(well the 240z i will be hunting out when time comes). How much does the I.D plate say it wieghs?I've always wanted to see one. Good luck with it. Your experience is proof that patience and persistance pay off. Early 71.......$1500....CONGRADULATIONS!!!!
  8. I think Cuong Nguyen, JEFFz, Ozzyguy & PhilUK are making the best cars.

  13. I thought 84 and under were cat exemept in texas. I know my 73 passed without one, but that was in my area of south texas. I know for sure it came without one from the factory.
  14. Of course there is a five lug conversion for your Z.
  15. Escalon's response should be put in the tech forum. How to remove heater control panel I for one always wanted to remove the heater panel and could not. Now I know THANKS!
  16. It is very easy to tell. If you see a one piece unit coming off the engine going to 2 exhaust lines that is the Stock setup. If you remember my car had 6 pipes coming off the engine and they went to one big outlet. A Header will have individual piping off each exhaust port.
  17. Anyone? Yes or No or maybe will do.
  18. Does the 73 240z stock exhaust bolt onto a 78 280z exhaust manifold? I have a complete 240z factory exhaust and want to replace the existing exhaust on my 280z. I am wondering if the 240z manifold is has the same configuration for the bolting of the exhaust piping as a 280z. I know this will eliminate the cat but here in texas smog exempt is '84 and under.

My car was doing that and i could never figure it out. One day while replaceing my condensor on my mallory distributor i must have bumped a few wiries and never had trouble again. I never figured out what it was. I guess you should look for bad connections.

I had a 6-1 header and 32/36 dgv webers on my car. I had a Dynomax and I liked it alot, but I haven't heard any other brands.
  24. I had a MSA jet hot coated 6-1 header out 2 1/2" to a dynomax muffler. Loud and Deeply Smooth. Not loud enough though to affect your stero volume (if you have a modern one) even with the windows down. Loved it!!! If you don't like loud then don't go with it.
  25. That seems like a good idea to do around some driving lights even!!! I could see them now in the grill!! mmmmm.... Or even in the air dam ducts.
