i like my shaved rear and my msa type 3 front. i want to stay nissan under the hood and deffintaly inline 6. i do give it to the v8 guys but IMO i think 300 hp is about all your going to use on the road.

removeing things i have no problem with. i know mechanics are shady in this area its fort hood they will take you for a ride. but either way i do need to learn how to do this so i guess me and my buddy will take a crack at it. phared what is the process you used in taking yours out?

Yea but they charge storage and just one for the whole post in on ft hood so its a real chore to get a booth and the things I need are broken till God knows when. If I could get in I would have.

ok getting quotes now i would have tools to do this but the army really frown on tools in the barraks so its hard to work on your own stuff here.

Its just bad lighting in the picture but the bolt is broken off just at the base of the tower if what you read is messed up I'm doing this at work on my phone

ok this cam tower bolt is broken and i have ran it with no problem just not on the road or over 2500. i know these are more for alignment the anythig so is it ok to run it as is or should i have this nasty thing removed. im getting out of the army and running short on time and tools. i might have a long trip to ohio in the near coming winter.

ok i thought i was good doing that in the first place and that is how i snaped the bolt but ok i have the nissan motor co.,ltd manual issued feb 1978. and a chiltons to but ill get cracking ive been doing this all week. this is just a thing at least i have extra parts. i have a e88 cam should i go a head and have it sent here i have read its a little more agressave but idk for now i just have to get this thing together.

do you happen to have any pics of any of the installs you have done because i wanna get this right the first time and skip the head ahc. im going to school for this stuff when i get out of the army(cant wait.) but ill find a way i dont wanna have to tear it all down and go from the bottem up.i really thank you for the help.

next question is can i time it with out taking it all apart and keeping the chain tight removing the head and marking everything and putting it all back together ligned up? just tweak it from there if i have to ill just go all the way but im just wondering if there is a better way?

ok sweet ill do that i like the the oiled cam vs the non it sounds like the spray bars fail often from what i have been reading. maybe ill ever redo the spary bar and put in a nice cam later. but right now just getting on the road is the thing i need.

ok i have ollked at hybridz and they say its ok to switch cam towers in doing a head swap to a internal oil cam n47 to a non with spray bar. if i switch towers will i be good as long as i have them numberd (if not i can do just switch). and have anybody ran there z with one cam tower broken? im new to engine work im going to do this for my next thing after the army and i wanna get a head start. i DO need my z back on the road so i need to know what to do just switch and go or try to get it going and wait for my head to get here.(yea i guess im kinda dumb for one question i like to do things right the first time but i really need it back on the road)

nope just got pulled off a extra motor i had at my dads house. i have 2 e88 heads but i was not sure what i would need to do for those. i was just going to rebuild one of those and i remeberd i had a extra motor i asked him to look and he said it was a n47 head so i figured to save cash i would use the one off the motor it just needs a good cleaning and mesure to make sure its not out of wack. and try to save the other one in the mean time so i could have a running z.

I'm going to switch a n47 to a n47 but the one I have coming has a solid can and oil sprayer

Ok that works i'm getting the thing cleaned and a measure should not cost me to much so I think ill see if I can find a place that dose both. And then fix the other one and do a full rebuild.

yea i have a cam and towers numberd ready to go. i snaped the tower bolt and not sure and dont really want to chance messing everything up by trying to runn it. dose anybody have pics of this swap? can i just swap out one head for another its kinda a time thing im leaving the army and i need to get the z back on the road.

can you switch to one from the other? with a switch of the cam towers or what would need to be done?

yea proper time looking and doing the right work would have helped im good with body work but im getting into the other side for my ase well i guess ill practice on my z befor i work on someones car that is paying me . i do see where your coming from but i think im going to start with a fresh head i found one for under 500 on ebay so ill start from there.

i have a full motor and 4 speed tranny and 2 e88 heads not complete. i need a n47 head i broke a cam tower bolt off and had some other issues with it like a couple rocker arms falling off. im here in texas in fort hood but the things i listed are in ohio. you can see my problem in the help me thread if any advice you want to give thank you all on here best site ive been part of.

hmm i then have to ask about the n47 seems like there are no numbers or anything on this one.

any ideas on how or should i just find a n47 to replace it my z is lucky i love it so much

yea i learned the hard way now i have to get it out

well put it back together and broke one of the cam bolts in the middle high side dose anybody know the tq on those so i dont screw anymore up once i get that one out

yea i was thinking about that and im going to see if thats a issue if not its going together and im going to buy new things anyway but if it is the z will just be down
