The bulb is 5/8" wide, would have to measure the height, but it is new soft rubber and compresses well. I will test fit the compression first, but I think it seal well.

What do you guys think of this set up? I was thinking of using this instead of foam.

good idea, looks good to me.
  4. thanks guys, my drain holes are still there, so no problem there, will take you advice on making sure it is completely dry. How long can I wait in between the metal reddy and the painting of POR? I didnt see anything in the instructions. Will try the two methods above for the fender. Thanks again! W
  5. So I cut out the rust in the floor pan and welded in new sheetmetal, but now what do I do with the inside area where the patch is? Also, if using por 15 in here, how do I clean it and "rinse with water" as per the instructions? I dont know how you rinse inside the car. I was thinking about using por 15 inside the fender, can this stuff be painted over small amounts of undercoating? Pictures attached. Thanks for the ideas@!!!

  7. I paid $91.00 In 1972, the first year of renewal, it cost $68.00 The least I paid was $15.00 in 1980. Welcome to California!

I have a choice to make here and need advice. I have a spare fender that is stripped of paint and rust free, but has a bunch of small dents in a few key places. It would take a bit of filler and alot of work to get them right. I have my orignal fender that is rusted through in the normal place, at the bottom where it attaches to the structual support. I also have the Tabco patch pannel that is not the same thickness as the orignal fender. So what way should I go about repairing this, I was thinking of these ideas. 1) cut the spare fender and weld it in place, using only the smallest amount needed. 2) Keep the spare whole, fix it and use it. 3) Keep the spare whole (what if they become NLA or the other one gets damaged) and just weld the Tabco part to the orignal fender. Any other ideas? Open to all sugestions. TIA. W

crap! I will take it back, but what year/make should I be looking for? The JY said it was a 91 Civic, and I looked at the other one they had, both were the same. The dreded 4 leg spider. This one was mounted inside the engine compartment on the Pass side, is there another mounting spot to keep an eye out for? (may help to find the three hole mount) Thanks for the help guys. W

I read the write up on this and headed to the JY, I pulled a motor from a 91 Civic. But the mount and pigtail are diffrent than the one in the write up. Mine has four mounting bolts and a round wire conector. Anyone else been able to make this one work or is back to the JY for another one? Can send a picture if that would help?? Thanks, W
  14. I solved it by putting the weatherstrip from McMaster Carr, its not correct, but so much better as far as instaling. Works well too. (my welting was too tight to fit the B/D part, and then after trying to make the seal fit, it was opened too wide to hold) I have a 71 240. (still need to find out how to put that in my profile along with a pic)
  15. I was able to solve the door problem, now just wondering about the quality/fitment of other rubber bits from B/D. I guess I could order some of the smaller bits and see for meself!
  16. I bout some door rubber from them and they didnt allow the door to close, big waste of time and money. Now I need some other rubber parts, was thinking of ordering from them as they have the best prices. Any one have an opinion on the quality of the weatherstrip from them? Thanks, W

I am guessing there is a lot of resistance in the connection. I was driving with the wipers on and the steering column started puffing some smoke. I turned them off, but the smell stayed around for a while. So am I at the point of removal, cleaning and maybe some solder? Is this the the same type of problem with the fuse box? Thanks! W

intresting, I will try slacking the bolts and see if she sits down a little. this may give me a a good chance to torque everythig as well. On a side note, I am doing the fronts now and both of the struts are dented, the first one came out okay, but the drivers side WOW what a battle, I ended up using two forklifts to pull the strut out of the tube! It was an intense moment, they did come apart, but I have never seen anything like this before. My helper said I should have filmed it and put it out there, I think he was more shocked then I was. Now I am looking at new ball joints, anyone out there have a hot tip on who to get these from? Agin, thanks for your help guys, all info here is such a help!

I installed KYb's I hope they settle down a little. I havent torqued everythig yet, I was going to do them all at once. I had a manual, its in storage somewhere, guess I need to find it. I was hoping to find info here so I didnt have to look through all the boxes Ugh!:stupid:

Thanks guys. I guess I can live with it like this, I did like it lower, but did not like the tire rub on hard corners, so I am hoping to have a better ride overall. Is there a place to find the torque specks for the suspension on a 71? A wiki or something?

I know this has been discussed before, and I did do a search, but I am looking for a quick answer please. I replaced the rear struts and kept the same springs, but now it looks like the ride height has increased. Is this right? Dosen't the car ride on the springs and not the struts? Why would the height chage if I am correct. Am I wrong as usual?

I'm not the smartest in the bunch! But I did get it done and its now back on the ground. Now for the front end!

No, like a dummy, I put it the way I thought it would be, ie the same side down, and assembeled it that way, went to put it in and opps it dont fit! I was mainly asking if the arm was correct or if some other dummy bought the wrong one. I just got the pin out and its now in the frezer, will try to put it back after lunch. This time the right way, upsidedown! Thanks for the info guys.
  24. woton121 replied to woton121's post in a topic in Help Me !!
Crap and THANKS! Looks like I get to pull the pin again. At least this time it may be easer to get them out. Thanks Zed Head. W

I am reassembeling the rear control arms on my 71 240. I didnt check before taking them apart, but are the control arms a mirror image of eachother? Would one go basicly upside down from the other? I knew I should have taken pictures! There was some rear end dammage to the car, and I am thinking the shop may have ordered two of the same sides? I am SURE that I didnt mix them up. But I dont see Nissan making one that would be correct fitment for both sides. I kinda hope I am wrong cause I alread pit the new spindle pins in and I hope I dont have to do that again! Thanks, W
