  1. Hi, wanted to check in on this. I have 3 complete sets of the round top 4 screw carbs. I know that two are attached to balance tubes and the other two are just the carbs. I am working on restoring 2 1971 so do need to have carbs them. I guess, I missed something that went on earlier. Appreciate any info you could provide. Thank you, Wayne
  2. I just want to "Thank" all our memebers, non-members and to all vetrans for their sacrifices while serving. Today, we say "Thank You" to you! Newtonhubcap
  3. Will track the link down for. I even have his phone number if that will work for you.
  4. Hope I am not out of line but yesterday I while picking up some parts I saw this gentleman's 1973 240z he has for sale and is posted in ZCar.com. It is currently in a rolling chassis state but is in great shape. From what he told me The car is in Lindehurst IL. If I didn't already have two Z's to be working on I would buy this. newtonhubcap
  5. Hey Idahokidd, by any chance do you have the interior panels (uncracked), what about the shift knob? Thanks and sorry to see it go to the grave. Newtonhubcap
  6. Hardway, great job. Attention to detail is great. I have 2 71's to work on. Nearing completion of the rotessire but really waiting on ice out here in Wisconsin. You mention putting a large order in Fastenal for literally all new bolts. By any chance do you have a list and what quanities you order? If you do could you pm it up to me? All I can say you are going to have a nice ride! Keep up the great work. Newtonhubcap
  7. Hey Captain, great idea and love the quality in the work. I have 2 71's that I would be interested using your upgrade on. Once you work out a price could you inform me of it. Would you need my oil lines sent to you? Thanks Newtonhubcap
  8. From the frozen tundra of Central Wisconsin, my vote is no stripes.
  9. Hey JLP, thank you. If you have one feel free to pm me and will work out a way to pay you for it.
  10. Would recommend checking in on Hybridz. They do a lot of pretty wild modifications. Good luck.
  11. I am in need of the 3mm nut that holds the grill together on a 71 240. I check with Fastenal and I can a box of 500 but what to do with the other 499 nuts. Plus these would not be gray either. So, I thought I would check if any one has grill they are parting out and see if they would be willing to part with either just the nut or nut and bolt even. Thanks in advance, Newtonhubcap
  12. Of all the early A cars I have had (71), they all have had that metal trim which if I am correct is actually SS. As for finding them either find a parts car or maybe a member (s) have them. Good luck!
  13. Just a quick note, up til 1986 (while was parts manger at a Honda shop) all the oem bolts for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki were JIS bolts. Very easy for them to find the bolt(s) you need.
  14. Stainless steel is pretty but is considered soft compared most auto-grade bolts. I would do more checking on the use of stainless bolts. Maybe they are SS bolts now that are the same strength.
  15. Sorry to hear about your lose, could've interest in the header.
  16. I would think the center console with all the appropriate covers (fuse panel, ash tray etc.). What about a dash replace skin with correct dash texture out of modern sun-resistant material. Agree, with all previous comments of suggestions. Clear light covers should be made from lexan not cheap plastic. Also light covers rings should be SS. I would also second the rubber seals for ths air cleaner. Being ignorant, who is Les? My apologies for the lack of knowledge.
  17. A Merry Christmas to a great group! Wishing everyone a great and healthy new year!
  18. Hi, saw your post on the pin puller and that you mention you have a set of plans for this. By any chance would be willing to send a copy of the plan? I would borrow the tool but I 2 cars I am working on and there be a delay between cars.

    Thank you,

    Wayne

  19. Actually, I feel I am 20 yrs behind the picking scene. Last summer I was able to line up two 71 240 down in TX. Not in any real hurry but looking for shift knobs for now. The PO I bought both cars provided a lot of new OEM parts to rebuild one car as a restore and the other car will be a daily driver. Guess if I can find parts I just hope they will fit in my bag.
  20. Got to admit that was what I expected, I greatly appreciate everyone's input. Will start looking on CL.
  21. I will be traveling to Phoenix for Christmas. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable salvage yard in the Mesa/Phoenix area that has a fair selection of early z cars? Thanks in advance!
  22. The final cost to do the restore was $135.00. I know he spent a lot time on it so, I would recommend to contract him for a quote. I have one more plate to restore which I plan to do next spring. One thing to remember I stripped the face panel to the base material before shipping it out which saved some cost.
  23. Yes, bought 4 cans not one sprayed correctly and eventually plugged. Was very $&@#=! off at them and there then away. Could have returned them for more than I paid for the original order.Capitalism at it's best! Consumer looses.
  24. Today I walked to the mailbox! What I found was my heater faceplate back from Robert. I got to admit it came out really nice. I want to dig out my new OEM faceplate to lay them side by side because I don't think one will be able to tell the difference, but I can find it in the $9,000 pile of parts right now. Anyway, I have taken some picture, the first picture will be of the two faceplates. The one on the right is the restored and the one on the right is just a used plate I still have. Eventually I am sure I will send it to Robert to be redone. So, the remainder of the photos are of the retored faceplate. Robert did a great job of painting in and around the raised lettering etc. The sheen of the matt black in my eye is just right. I also included a picture of both plates from the back so you can see the comparison of the chrome. Now, back to getting getting insulation up in the garage. I am in the middle of insulating and finishing the inside of my garage with steel siding alway the way through.
  25. Hi Greg, went to check out you build at the embedded link but got message it was moved. Hopefully you could update the link.
