1978 280z, looking to replace Cold Start Valve. Have noticed that replacements are referred to as "black dot" or "Green dot". Besides $, what's the difference between the two? Also, is it the same connector as is used for the injectors? Thanks.

Unfortunately, cant get the car started...cranks but won't engage. I'm thinking may not be getting fuel...filter clogged at this point? Guess the 9-volt way to go and be ready to catch whatever drains when pull line from filter? Thx

Finally got back to taking care of biz and went to try and start up the Z...now it cranks but won't turn over and start. Rechecked coil to dizzy to plugs etc and getting spark all the way thru. Plugs look fine (not fouled), checked gap in all. Finally got all the FI Connectors and will (hopefully) get them installed this weekend and see what happens. I'm beginning to also think fuel related again...after running & heating up, fuel line/filter getting clogged with "stuff"? Maybe now blocked completely? Guess will start at the fuel filter (easiest to get to) and work backwards. Any other thoughts? Thx

1978 280z acquired 3 months ago; on my list of to-do's is change the fuel filters. First time doing on my own. How do I relieve fuel and pressure that is already in the lines, etc. Don't want to disconnect something and have fuel all over the place. Suggestions? Things to watch out for? Thanks!

Thanks for all the feedback...Latest update: pulled the plugs from PO and replaced. Previous plugs had seen better days. Car started but took a while to smooth out (burn off fuel residue etc from earler). Ruuning nice and smooth, then started "wigglying" the injector (electrical) connectors and three of them seemed looser that others. At one point rpms dropped significantly on # 6 and stalled as before. Looked further and a couple of exposed wires as well where tape had come away. So now thinking need to splice in new set of connectors to the injectors. Any recommendations on where to source? Thanks again.

1978 280z; having problem with engine starts to run rough and then shutting down after driving 20-30 mins. Leave it for a while to cool down and can get it started again. - put on new set of wires - new dizzy rotor - new dizzy cap - plugs were recently replaced by PO (I have car 2 months), but will be replacing those tomorrow - getting good spark from ignition coil itself Thoughts? Is this more symptom of fuel injectors than electrical? Thanks.

Thanks everybody....once I had the full set on again I moved on to other items (air filter, interior stuff) and let the car sit for a bit. Started right up a bit later, took it out for a ride and seemed ok, parked and started again later. Blue...thanks for the pics...will check these tomorrow; too hot in the garage right now (4pm facing west in Florida is brutal).

Thanks for the reply....Yup, did them one at a time vs the old wires. Now starts with full new set, but still getting a rougher idle than usual and more visible exhaust out the pipe.

Have 78 280Z. Had bad coil wire and changed it and car started great. Changed plug wire #1, car started great. From #2 onwards could not get a start. Put back old plug wirs and will start, but rough idle and noticable exhaust. Checked seating of all wires and look good. Thoughts?
