Introductions
I've been away from my beloved z now for about a month. I miss it... BUT. Here's some pictures of the new steel on the drivers quarter. No filler, this is all grinder and a little primer to keep it from rusting.

Love it or hate it, it was incredibly fun to do. Chalkboard 280z
Wow, that makes me jealous. I would just be worried about people always being so close to it like with dents or anything

Okay... I think the rims above are eagle alloys... still don't know about the black ones. I FINALLY put the quarter panel on from post 1 today, so I super excited about that. There was a lot of fabrication involved, since everything underneath was rotted as well. Luckily it didn't go too far so I just tacked in some modified flat bar and stitch welded the panel until it was a solid seam. No work for the fourth, and a happy independence day to everyone! but with our departure date drawing dangerously close, I plan to clean up the weld and start talking to the people at the paint shop again this week. I also decided to cut out the passenger side floor having done it once, I've found the frame rail to be the difficult part, which is good on that side. Okay, so: passenger side floor cutting, cleaning, fabricating, both floors welding, frame rail welding, cleaning... another whole weekend. Plus paint and the interior. Meh, it can happen in two weeks, right? Then there's MSA... Where are my headers?... Once again, pictures are taken and waiting to be uploaded =)

Datsun Graphic
Well I use forza to take pictures of what a graphic might look like ON the car, but sorry, no. I don't have paint.NET installed... But here it is if you want it http://www.getpaint.net/download.html#download

Okay... While I'm waiting for my headers, I'm looking at some other things that need attention. First, my rims are from some zx (I think) and the tires don't hold air for more than two days. Luckily, my great uncle Bill races a 280z and has a set of rims to sell me. If anyone can ID them, that'd be great. Otherwise, I can wait the three weeks to put them on. I also dug up ONE of those black rims you see there. I think it came off an old porshe 944 but that's another whole story. If someone could ID those as well I be very grateful. Furthermore, we have decided on a moving date of July 30th, so if anybody between here and Florida could recommend some places I should stop by, or good garages, since I'll have less than a thousand miles on my z before we leave... Or maybe some garages to Avoid? other comments? Also, here are some pictures of my custom frame rail =)

MSA Ceramic Coated Headers
I spoke with the people at MSA and from what I hear the exchange program is very smooth. Chances are good that I'll be running again next weekend!

MSA Ceramic Coated Headers
No doubt about the loss of quality. Even and especially workmanship is gone, it seems. Even where I work, it has been almost a year and I've yet to get any formal training or schooling, which is supposed to be a requirement of the company... Also, where should I mount the throttle return springs now that I no longer have a heat shield?

MSA Ceramic Coated Headers
I got to install new headers this weekend! But there is a pinhole in the welding and there is evidence of an exhaust leak:mad: *sidenote* '71 z 4speed stock everything... until now. The hole in the headers is literally about the size of a standard sewing needle I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with MSA, and how smooth the RMA's are. I plan on calling them tomorrow. I have pictures, I can upload them tomorrow

I just watched harold and kumar again the other day... THEY said there was a White Castle in Cherry Hill. Anyway, I would love to see a blue z with that blue and white castle in the background... *.*UPDATE*.* The car has to come out of the garage this weekend so I can put a water pump in my girlfriends civic... right down to the timing belt...

Well I ordered coated headers from MSA yesterday they shouldn't be long now... Also, with a little help from xenon (thanks for the link) I have verified the numbers matching status of my l24 So, while I was removing the stock headers, I found the smog fittings to be quite... In the way. Also, do I have to remove the intake manifold to get the headers off? If so, how much work does that really entail? :stupid: I am quite intimidated by the concept. Anyway, I did actually DO something today! Here's some before pics That floor was Bondo'd in place. Sigh. The Bondo trapped water, making the rust holes in the rocker panels seen above. Well, I guess that's what stick feeds are for, right? ... Now I need moar CO2 :ogre:
