77' 280 acceleration problem
Me again. So I came out here to work on the z again, now the ****er won't start... I replaced some more hoses on the fuel rail the other day and now it won't start. I was reading more and someone said something about ecu flash codes. Do z's even have ecu flash codes? If so how do I check em?

wierd. so my buddy had a fuel pressure guage. just popped that bitch on. it idles a just a little shy of 30psi. what im wondering now is why does it stay at 30psi when i pinch the return line? pretty sure it should shoot the psi up right?- 77' 280 acceleration problem

horay for the yogurt test. fixed an air leak (injector to intake). so pay day ill order a fuel pressure gauge. im havin a buddy's step dad who was a z machanic come over this weekend. hopefully that will sort out my $^!#. i really appriciate the help. this is the most helpful forum ive ever been on- 77' 280 acceleration problem
sometimes when i first start the car it will seem fine and accelerate great for a few seconds then the problem will kick in again.- 77' 280 acceleration problem
the original problem wasn't so much a "rev limit" it was just more of a not wanting to give any more power because it was running too rich.- 77' 280 acceleration problem
about the TPS? ya its not the TPS. like cozye said it ran decently with out it even plugged in. havnt had much oprotunity to work on it much more in the past few days.- 77' 280 acceleration problem
thx. im waitn on the fuel pressure gage to help narrow my search down too. ill start replaicin vacume and fuel lines for now. in the mean time, i have a california 280. can i just pull all that california $^!# off? will the car run fine? i live on an island where we have no smog controll so im not to worried about smog- 77' 280 acceleration problem
i appriciate it guys. any trouble shooting ideas??- 77' 280 acceleration problem
hey guys, baught this 280 from a lady who baught it off the lot in 77. one owner, she "drove it till it stopped running." well its running now. but im kinda goin nuts on what the deal is now put it in gear and accelerate and it doesnt run right. backfires (through the intake) and doesnt want to rev past 3000. thought it was the coolant temperature sensor. orderd a new one that wasnt it... ive lurked around threads to try and find the problem. no luck yet. figured ide ask the pros and see what kind of help i could get in resolving my running problems. thanks Brento - 77' 280 acceleration problem
