  8. Hello, i'm just continuing on the process of cleaning, and replacing old parts from the L28, unfortunately today one of the nightmares that nobody wants happened to me , the two bolts that hold the water inlet(coming from the heater) broke inside the the timing cover, , i had already deal with a situation like this before when i was barely trying to get the 280z running (thermostat housing), today however, the studs are almost all the way in... my question,.. is there any way to remove the timing front cover(whole oil pump, dizzy, etc) without messing up the timing? , I know I could use one of those kits to remove broken studs, but right now I could have access to a chrome cover for cheap, and I would like to take advantage of it, if possible. thanks guys ..
  9. The third line I believe goes under the aux air valve , it heats up an element on the aux air valve to make it work properly. .I believe

  15. Hello Again at last after months of trying , 2 fuel pumps, and a lot of cuts on my hand, i got my beauty running. HOWEVER... the idle is really high(the little pron to adjust the idle is not responding at all), the gauges are not working, and the side marks and tail light are not working, what did i do to make this chain reaction of failing electrical issues? it really doesn't make any sense!! BTW, this is all i did to make the car run again clean fuel tank replace rubber fuel lines replace fuel filter put a filter between fuel tank and pump new fuel pump(255lph) new injector connectors replace the AMF replace the thermostat enclosure new thermotime new temp sender new temp sensor new NGK spark wires i have two ECU , and when i use either one of them the car starts as you guys can see i don't see where i messed up, please let me know your thoughts thanks again to all for the help!:classic:
  16. ok, I need your help guys, this is where i am 1 replace spark wires 2 replace fuel injectors, injector plugs 3 clean fuel tank, did the filter between fuel tank and fuel pump 4 new fuel filter 5 ran the fuel bible diagnostic ALL everything was a BIG OK , everything as it was supposed OK, I tried to start the vehicle ... nothing check again ...nothing after I checked coil to distributor cap .. ok spark then checked distributor to spark plugs .. ok spark checked fuel filter between tank and fuel pump, and i see gas in the filter(FRAM filter). sorry for the messy distribution of words, but i am on the hurry, hope you guys can give me any toughs about it. I almost forgot I put 6 gal of gas after the tank was cleaned and also the car kind starts when I used carburetor cleaner
  17. Wow, great words...couldn't be explained better:D
  18. I just went to scout a junk yard here in so cal, there is a red 240z 12/70, I will be going this weekend (get some ZX fuel parts), any interest kernel know, as all of as, I breath zzZ...
  19. Ok, I know the question was not exact, I think I should start from the beginnig. I bough the car from a guy that couldn't figure out why the car was stalling a couple of minutes after starting, I found out when I start the process of cleaning , that the fuel tank was all rusted , no fuel filter, and no thermostat, etc . I changed the fuel tank, replace some fuel lines , placed a new fuel filter, and update the fuel rail with a 280zx one, now when working on the thermostat I noticed that 4 sensors are required . thermotimer , water sender , water switch, water temp sensor, then removing all the sensors to replace them,I noticed the water switch was rusted an broken, being a 280z 1976 California , I M not sure if the failure of the car was due to the fact of the missing water switch or other reason ?
  20. thanks, I see what you are saying
  21. sensor = $12 , switch = $60 - not avail . the switch is the part in question
  22. will the car work without it, i know it has been discuss before, but no one has been really precise with the answer .I have a 76 280z and the part number is 22120-N4202,thanks guys, Fastwoman any comment?
  23. Thanks Guys, I just made a mistake and gave away a FPR for a ZX thinking I could retrofit my Z FPR ... I should had keep it .... Well seems I got to get another one
