Well the splines are gone on the hub. It's just a flat round surface. Does that really matter, though? I'd presume it's got some importance. The splines are meant to prevent the studs from turning while installed. Something that vibration can easily cause to do the opposite. Anyway, the guy said he'd give me the hub for $45. So pretty cheap. Which also enables me to put it back together and use it now. Whereas, if I were to do the Pep Boys thing you were referring to, I'd have to pay someone to repress the studs in. If push comes to shove, that's what I'll end up doing if this hub is not worth it.
