  1. I'm like Bonzi Lon, I like the wheels, but they look to be oversized for Z or do the rims have to much offset The attention to detail in the engine bay looks really good. This car would draw a crowd at a car show. Hard for tell what type of air dam.
  2. What needs to be done to head and block for this happen. I have red about notching the block, steel liners, polishing and porting, larger valves. Also the difference between 3 angle and a 5 angle valve job. Is this going to make a difference in performance.
  3. I need to find a early 72 head, then look about a stage II cam. My SU's have app. 65,000 miles on them, but the Z runs great. Back in the late 70's I drove a 260 with triples, stage II cam (crane),header, and head with big valves. This was a totally different car.

Sweet Had one in the early 80's. Mine was a orange 72 2 door. Wish I still had it
  5. The main reason I said I didn't want a big block was I have nowhere to store the old motor. My garage is full.
  6. I know this is an old thread, but i'm at the point where i need some more horses.I don't want a big block, I have a few ideas,so I will start. 1. Replace the timing chain. 2. Replace the 74 e-88 head with a 72 E-88. 3. Rebuild SU carbs or send them to Z therapy. 4 Purchase a stage II cam. 5 Purchase a header and 2.5" exhaust. 6 Add 5 speed trans and 3.9 diff. Any ideas would be helpful.
  7. Replaced the first taillight bulb today.
  8. Love your Z, always wanted a V-8.
  9. e-tek, Do you ever go deer hunting.I was up your way about 20 years ago, near Regina. Man i love this place. Great place to go deer hunting. We were hunting near the Porcupine Hills.
  10. The early model 260z is like the 240z. The interior on the 260z is like the 75-76 280z. The interior was a major upgrade that was needed. It also has a rear sway bar and taillights like the 280. The 260 has the best stock intake (N-36) and cam. The main problem with the 260z was the flat top carbs.Mine ran great until it reached app. 45,000 miles then it just died. IT would not run 60 mph,it would start vapor locking. The 72 carbs made a big difference.
  11. I would look for a early model. The late models are heavier and have the 280 bumpers. They are also down on performance. If you pick up a 260z make sure they have the round top carbs. The round top carbs takes care of the drivability issues. Adjust the valves, and carbs, then find someone who has a stock 240. Ask him, if he would like to run a 260.
  12. Love the color e-tek. Just finished with a wax job on the Z. Car show this weekend in Durham NC.
  13. Replaced the front brake pads and all the hardware.
  14. I didn't answer your question. Do you have a FSM. If you don't you need to buy one on ebay.
  15. Welcome to the site. First thing , why are you concerned about the emissions equipment. Go with the N36 intake from a 260, plug the air gallery tube on the exhaust manifold. You can find the plugs at NAPA. Try to find a 70 or 71Z balance tube. The Emerald City Z Club is located in the Greenville area, nice guys Try looking them up.
  16. Nice Looking Z. How about a engine bay shot. The auto tranny would have to go. I need to make a trip to Richmond to check out your fleet of Z's.
  17. Is that intake from a 69 Z/28.
  18. Is that a V8 in the yellow Z.If so is that a cross ram intake. More pictures please.
  19. My addco rear sway bar are as Bryan described. OEM type rear bar 7/8" front 1". I have the original instruction sheet.
  20. I'll tell you what's better, is a BMW owner starring you down after you push your right foot down. Older guys will give you the thumbs up. Kids like to take pictures, or will ask you . WHAT'S THAT.

This is mainly a Muscle Car Show, but there app 10 foreign cars . The last two shows I attended ,VW always win. Next show Butner NC in three weeks. Still great day to take the Z out.
