Hurricane Irene
We have a house at Emerald Isle so we will be going down in the next few days. I know there a lot of trees down, cell towers are backup but no communication so far. The storm was really a slow mover. New Bern NC is in bad shape, a lot of flooding on the sound side.If you like to go to a nice beach, take a trip to Emerald Isle.

S30 Steering wheel discussion
I installed a Racemark sterring wheel back in the late 70's,and I loved it. My hangout was the Miller and Norburn shop in Durham,NC. They were one the best BMW racing teams going on SCCA circuit. App 2002 I picked up MOMO COMP from Motorsport Auto and will never go back to the original steering wheel. BETTER GRIP. Everyone asked about the MOMO when they get behind the wheel.

Question on the Position of front tires in the wheel well

Lowering a 280z
Did you add bump stops on all four corners. Idea for the future. I would at least consider them for the rear.

[2011] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
Went out to start the Z about 9:00am, battery was dead. 4:00pm battery was charged, but to late to take it out for a spin. Pulled it back in the garage,

re-carbed, and now over heating? engine degreaser? water pump fail?
My temp has never gotten to the halfway point on the gauge. The only time it's gotten close was when I was running app. 90mph for about 2 miles. The outside temp was app 92.I have replaced the water pump, radiator, so that could be why my Z runs a little cooler. I think you are running a little warm.

Lowering a 280z
You stated that they were the original springs, well I would replace them,if it were mind. As suggested in post 2,3, don't go cutting coils. Bad Idea.

Spoiler or Air Dam
I too had an original BRE spook in 1976, but it found a speed bump. There were very few import parts stores back then. So he told me that Interpart spook was the next best thing, so I said get me one. My question, How does the two compare, are they the same.

260Z with fresh paint!
Great color. Can't wait to see it finished. I too have a early model 260. Looks to be the same color.

Spoiler or Air Dam
At first I didn't want to add a rear spoiler, until I rode in a Z that had one. That changed my mind. I will agree,it doesn't matter 80 ,90, or 100mph,it seems the faster you go the better it gets. (downforce). Just don't add the rear spoiler first, the front becomes very light, float down the highway at 50mph (very unstable).

Spoiler or Air Dam
In post #7 that is the first time,I've seen that type BRE spook. As far as going 100mph I'm not sure how stable the Z would be. But as far as 75- 80 the car is very stable at that speed. If I were going to buy a fixer, upper, I would add both spoilers. You need to drive a Z with both, then you will know what I'm taking about. Take it to 100mph you will have your answer.

Spoiler or Air Dam
Which front spoiler or air dam has the most downforce for a stock s30. Read the report in Car And Driver, which is about 15 yrs old. Is the BRE spook still the best. That's what I have on my 260.
- I'm officially an owner

If I were you, I would place a single bed in the garage with some cold ones, and that's where I would camp out tonight.

konig opal wheels or panasport????
Go buy the Panasports and don't look back. For the classic look go with the 15', but the 16" have the better tire selection. I have 205/55/15 on mind.

Total Restoration Project. 71
Need some detailing tips on the rad. fan or is that a new one. Also how did get all the aluminum parts clean(valve cover) etc. The Z looks great and I love the Panasports.

Any Thoughts on New Tires?
Repost I have the Bridgestone tires 205/55/15 but I have not tested them on the track or the rain. My car hasn't seen the rain since app. 1989.
